I have a RC810-A universal remote control and a Panasonic DVD home theater sound system. I can't find the codes to make this system work properly. I have no control over the DVD function. The TV button controls the AM/FM mode. Can anyone help?

Is your remote really an RCA brand RCU810 remote?

I think it probably is. It came with a RCA TV that was on sale as an open box and some of the paperwork that came with it is missing. The remote is an RCA and it says that it is a universal custom 8 on the outside. The other number I gave came from the inside.

Is this your remote? If so, it's really a "One For All" remote in disguise. It uses all the same setup codes that an OFA remote would use, except they're all 17 higher. For example, the normal OFA code for Panasonic DVD players is DVD/0490, so with the RCU810 you should try DVD/0507 (ie, 0490 + 17).

If you'd like to print a new manual for yourself, you can get one from here:

Thanks this is my remote. I'm still having trouble with the DVD function and getting the buttons on the remote to match the function that they should be performing. The TV button switches betwen AM/FM for example. I'll Keep trying and rereading the manual. Thanks
