Hi:
I visited this site and want to buy a good remote control.
Can any one tell me which one can send power "ON" and "OFF" separately?
Because my home theater is so complicated for my wife, I want to code remote control in macros as it was mentioned in the web page:
'PlayDVD', 'PlayVCR', etc..
My DENON AVR2700 remote can store 2 macros, but when some thing was already 'ON', and you push the 'PlaySomething' button, that device will be turned 'OFF' by the macro.
Can any of these remotes solve the problem?
Thanks
Jian

The Marantz RC2000MkII is the remote you are looking for. It has a separate power "ON" and "OFF" and a host of features. See the links below for more details. [Link: hometoys.com]

Yes it HAS the separate ON/OFF buttons BUT you have to program them before they work as ON and OFF. The MAIN PROBLEM IS....If your original remote doesn't have the separate on and off codes, then you'll not be able to program them properly.
The only one that comes close is the Philips Pronto. After some digging around some of the HT sites and this site, you can probably find the codes and enter them into your Pronto. Dan who runs this site can probably help you in this regard if you have a Pronto. Note that not all equipment has discrete on and off codes.
