Wow. Hey. Question. I have a 15-1995 and a Hughes DirecTV Tivo that I was to control. How did you get your remote to work with your Hughes DSS Receiver? I've purchased over 4 remotes. All to no avail.

I have been trying to search this enormous thread for a "delay" code for the RS 15-1994. I am finally giving up and asking if some helpful person can tell me what it might be?
I need a code which will cause my remote to wait a bit before executing the next command in a macro.

Remember, I don't have a remote to learn from. I have a RS 15-1994, but am having trouble finding codes. If any one could help that would be great.

The code that you need, which is SAT/1005, is not in the 15-1994. So, you can either add it to the 15-1994 using JP1, or you can buy one of the more recent remotes that do have the code, such as the new 15-2104.

Hi --

I just bought a 15-2104 and love it so far. Can anyone confirm that this remote has the same basic functionality as the 15-1994? I can't seem to get any Macros to work.

Also, has anyone done anything cool with the "Theater" button?

Finally, when powering on equipment using the Press/Hold Power method, is there any way around the fact that if a component is already on, it doesn't shut itelf off instead?

It has the same "basic" functionality, but it also has alot more silly restrictions added.

First off, you can't re-program the POWER button using learning or key moves.

Second, if memory serves, macros are limited to the four "genre" buttons, for no good reason whatsoever, and you can't re-program the genre keys using learning or key moves.

You can get around some, but not all, of these restrictions using JP1 ([Link: hifi-remote.com])

I recommend that people still deciding on a new remote check out the new line of One For All remotes just starting to hit the shelves (ie, URC-8011, 8811, 8910 and 9910)

Am I just an idiot or can macros NOT be stacked over the number pad buttons on the 15-1994? I can do it for any other buttons but not the numbers...

You can put macros on the number buttons.

Rob - I have no problem putting a macro on a number button - it is putting a macro on a shifted (or pressing P before) number button that I can't get to work. I can do it on any other button but not the numbers...

a) I seem to remember that you have to hit shift twice to put anything on a shifted number button, otherwise the remote thinks you want to send an advanced code on-the-fly.

b) I can't believe this thread is still alive!

I just had to revive it. I remember reading it when it first was posted back in 2000 and rushing out to get my 15-1994. Since then, Rob has done such a nice job with his site that I don't refer to it much anymore. How far we've come!

Yeah, but have you downloaded the manual for the 15-1994 from my site, specifically have you read item #12?
