Thanks Andre for this thread. For those interested to know I bought the RS 15-1995 yesterday for $49.95. I wanted the UHF feature. However the UHF is not worth it, doesn't transmit around simple interior walls. Also it is not a learning remote, therefor it is going back in exchange for the 1994. Hope this one is as easy to program as the 1995 which was very easy and very intuitive.

Howdy all. First, let me reiterate what several other people have already said - this forum is a GOLDMINE of info for the 15-1994 and the helpful nature of the posts here is a welcome change from the usual vitriol spewed on Usenet.

Now to my question. I recently purchased a 15-1994 and absolutely LOVE it, but I cannot find a code for the remote that will operate my Nakamichi AV-10 receiver. The code listed in the manual (0097) does not work. Yes, I am assigning it to an AUX button. I've searched and cannot find anything regarding this receiver. My next step is to call Radio Shacks remote control line, but I thought I'd check here since it's Saturday and they're closed. If anyone has any info regarding this receiver and the 15-1994 I would really appreciate you sharing it. Thanks!

Doug, I have the same receiver and was considering this remote. If you find a solution, please post here.

I ended up buying the SL9000 because I needed more learnable keys, but the 15-1994 was a consideration. I may be happy I avoided it now.

Robert - I'm able to get around the problem with no code support for the Nakamichi AV10 by using the learning mode on the remote and doing it myself. It's just tedious and uses more memory. Also, be aware that even though the manual only lists the four special keys as learning keys. almost ALL of them are. The only keys I have so far been unable to program using learn mode are the device keys, the backlight key and some of the other "universal function" keys, which you wouldn't want to change anyway.

I'm another happy camper that just a 15-1994 'cuz of this forum. I recently bought a new Toshiba RPTV and was a bit jealous of a friend with a lower priced model that had an XDS button on his remote to get movie title and station info. Apparently Toshiba just ran out of keys and dropped the function from their higher end models. I plugged in the XDS code from starbase and it works great ! What a remote, I even found a device code for my 15 year old Magnavox VCR. I couldn't be happier.

Well, I bought the 1994 and that to must go back.
#1 it would not accept the code for my sony DVD 330
#2 very limited fucntion on my rca Direct TV receiver - would scroll down the menu but not up
#3 exteremly limited control of my sony 930 receiver.
I gues I will spring for either the sony 200 or pronto unless someone has a suggestion>

I recently bought the RS 15-1994 remote and it's great! It does 95% after two days of messing around and inputting advanced codes. Thanks to all on this board and especially to Jeff at Mandela and the starbase website. I have a problem getting my Denon AVR-3300 to switch to DVD input. I'm using the 0160 code for the 3200 at starbase. It won't even "learn" from the Denon remote. I saw Steve had the same problem on 11/14 with his AVR-2800 and was wondering how he fixed it, he doesn't quite say. Any help and/or advanced codes for the Denon AVR-3300 would be greatly appreciated.

My 15-1994 controls:

Mitsubishi HS-U50 VCR
JVC HR-A61U VCR
RCA 27" TV
Panasonic DVD-A120U DVD Player
Denon AVR-3300 DD/DTS Receiver
Kenwood CD player

I'm having trouble restoring my POWER button to it's original function. I wanted to set the remote up so that when turning anything on or off, it would leave the device set to TV. I did this by:
P** 995 PWR PWR TV **

Though this accomplished what I was trying to do, I've decided I'd rather it work as before. To restore it, I entered:
P** 994 PWR PWR **, but it doesn't change anything. If I hit P PWR, then it behaves as it should.

Any idea where I'm going wrong. Thanks!

Matt,

Try 976 instead of 994. I believe this is what I used to clear a macro. Let us know if it works.

Looking for the advanced discrete power up & power down code for a Dish 4000 sat rcvr.

Also looking for a complete list of the advanced codes for a Yamaha RXV995 receiver.

I have already searched the starbase314 website.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I recently purchased Philips Tivo. I currently have my home theater system in my living room but I have a TV which I connected to the output of the Tivo. I used the X10.com's Powermid remote extenders to control all the components from the bedroom. I thought I was stuck when I bought the Tivo but I learned all the commands from the Tivo remote into the 15-1994 remote and it works like a champ. I plan to do with my 15-1994 in the living room and eliminate the Tivo remote completely. This configuration works great since it allows me to watch cable, satellite and Tivo recordings on both TV's.
