This is a weird question. I had a NEC 50 MP2 plasma for about a week and all was fine. I programmed a Radio Shack 5 in 1 to operate the plasma and other components (the 5 in 1 has a learn feature) and used it for a day. The next day, the set was dead, in that no remote, the original or the RS could awaken it from its standby mode. I posted a message about it in the AVS forum, hopeing someone could have some info on restarting my plasma, but no go, and the NEC people said the set would need to be replaced. However, one of the people at AVS said that his set had died in a similar manner after programming a universal remote ( I don't know which brand). I assume it's a coincidence but does anyone have any idea if these remotes can somehow, either via an overboard signal or whatever, injur the mechanism in a tv set in general, or a plasma in particular. Thanks
Steve

I've tried all that. THe plasma has been sent back and I have a new one and am using the Radio Shack remote but I just a little worried. So far, so good though.
