As long as you have Internet access and a USB connection to your computer, you can configure it from anywhere. The Harmony works with satellite equipment as well as long as it is IR controlled. I just have cable so I don't know the nuances of setting this up. I don't think local station programming (no cable or satellite) is supported but best call the company if this is important to you.

It has come to my attention that some Harmony Beta Test Program participants are surprised when they are sent a Beta Test Program Agreement by Easy Zapper Inc. It is not our intention for this to be seen as an 'underhanded' tactic that 'takes advantage' of the remote control community.

The Beta Test Program Agreement is a mandatory part of enrolling in the Harmony Beta Test Program. The agreement includes a confidentiality clause that is designed to protect the intellectual property of Easy Zapper Inc. The agreement also ensures that Easy Zapper Inc will keep your personal information confidential.

If you apply to join the Beta Program, we will not bill your credit card (nor ship your unit) until we have received the signed agreement. If you choose not to sign the agreement we will cancel your order, and invite you to purchase a unit on November 1 for CAD $300.

I wholeheartedly apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this has caused.

Hello All,

This posting is to say 'thank you' to all the people that have helped out so much over the past month. As our Beta Testers can tell you, the Harmony has been improving by leaps and bounds.

We still have a long way to go before we reach the 'perfect' remote control. However, we have had so many applications to join the Beta Program that we cannot take very many more. As a result, Easy Zapper Inc. will no longer be accepting applications to join the Harmony Beta Test Program as of 5pm Wednesday 24 October (Eastern time). We will continue to solicit input from our Beta Testers (and future customers) to improve the product and web site.

Stay tuned for the official launch of the Harmony.
