HELP!! I have used all and every instruction imaginable to program this remote to my TV!! Nothing will work. I finally got the remote to turn the TV off/on but it will not change channels with the up/down channel button and when I enter the number of a channel it will not go past 13. Any ideas?? Thank you in advance :)

On some older RCA TVs, there is a unique command for operating the Up/Down channels, and no universal remote, even RCA's own, will make it work. Sounds like you have one of those sets. I certainly used to.

And, with the same sets, you had to access either the original remote or the TV buttons to tell it program all channels above 13, one at a time, manually.... by selecting each channel individually and then pushing Enter (or another button I cannot remember). In fact, this may only have been possible from the remote. ... Mike

Hey Mike, I've seen the not ein almost all my rmeote manuals about old RCA TV's and their funny channel up/down buttons, do we know what the signals actually look like? Do you know if the Pronto can capture them?

Rob.

Robmeister. Sorry, don't have a Pronto yet. Should have one soon... but the TV and remote are no longer with me. On the other hand... I do know where they are: my mother rents out her condo here in town, furnished... and the tenants are using that set, so it wouldn't be too big a deal, probly, to go over there and try it out. If so, I will keep you informed. ... Mike
