I've just got myself a UCommand 515 and it looks and feels great and works well for all my components except my Samsung rear projection which it refuses to learn (it shows the error icon for evry botton). I have another Samsung television which the 515 learns no problem. Can anyone offer any advice. It's a real pain!!!

I have the new SRC-2010 with the PC Link cable
and I can not get the link to work. If I connect
to COM1 it starts "downloading" and then gives
me a FAIL window. If I switch to COM2 it tells
me there is a port already open and closes the
program!! This software looks great, please somebody
help me use it!!

Troy

I now have the solution which is mainly RTFM! ie in this s/w unlike others, you have to initiate data transfer from BOTH the PC AND the remote ie "Download from Remote" icon on PC AND then "Send" from Remote. Then a progress bar appears and 1-5 minutes later all is OK! Reverse is true for "Uploading" ie use "Receive" on remote

It's a real pain!!!

My remote will not learn Thompson TiVo PVR10UK codes for 8,9,10 and Record. According to hometheatre.net.au
"24. Why do I see an "error" display during operation?
a) The source remote uses an uncommon code, which may not be learnable by the SRC Remote Control.
b) The source remote uses a frequency lower than 10kHz or higher than 150 KHz "
I have asked crisp by e-mail if they have any advice but suspect we are stymied at this point!

I purchased a Digitor Commander a badged version of the uCommand 515 after I got my Samsung 134cm Tantus Rear Projection TV. The UR runs my cable, VCR, DVD, stereo and air-conditioner but does not work for my tv. Extremely dissapointed and had to return the remote. Why have one remote to control 5 components and on for the TV which is the main component. Now back to remote control hell. Does anyone know why a new product from Sony can't be learned. I tried to use another learn remote then learn of that but it just jammed the remote. May purchase it and try again if the replys help. Thanks. Still think it is a great product.

I have one of these remotes and have a quite simple question. When you change the images on the volume buttons you cannot get the volume arrows without the text "volume" appearing between them. However when you set the backlight sensitivity the arrows are there without the "volume" text. so is there any way of having the arrows without the text?

Thanks all,

Phil.

I'm trying to find a way to make me a docking station. Only docking station avaliable is the silver-colored one. I have the 'black' remote, so that wouldn't be a good option.
I only need the docking station for charging purposes, no data transfer.
This week I tried to open the remotecontrol, but after some fidgetting I decided to let it stay closed instead. I just ordered me an extra set of NiMH AAA batteries and intend to replace batteries instead of trying to make me a docking station with the possibility of destroying the remote.
Would be nice to have a dockingstation, but I'm not sure which connectors to use.
I have some diagrams of how to build the charging module, but as I said, don't really know which connectors to use.
Has anyone of you more info on the connectors?
I mailed the factory and distributor, and they promised me info, but I didn't get any.

If i read the Installers Menu Properly the described cable has 2 Plugs on each end. One has a red mark on the left, the other on the right. Has anyone tried to make that cable himself? It sound quiete easy, if there is nothing else done to it(Like a Nullmodem). Will have a look for parts at Maplins.Co.Uk, because mine has a broken glas(not the screen) and i don't want to learn all the functions new. It only lasted 1,5 months (Kids....)

Cheers

I think you're screwed. Unless you can contact the Crisp people, I'm sure you can't get a replacement LCD panel. In fact, that's probably the biggest weakness of remotes with LCD (i.e. "glass panel") displays: they're QUITE FRAGILE and, once they're cracked or otherwise damaged, they're useless....

Yes, you'd have to get one direct from the company (or someone willing to part with an otherwise dead remote), since they're completely custom.

Thanks Guys,
i was already in contact with Crisp and the original manufactor. The offered the replacement parts for around 30$ incl. shipping. I just went out and bought a new one. Shame....It was a nice but short life for mine..

Cheers
