I cannot for the life of me get the RC9800i and my DirecTV H10 HD receiver to get remote codes matched up! I tried doing the manual learn process, and the remote indicates it could not find a matching codebase. Any info or help would be GREATLY appreciated here. Thanks in advance.

Well, for anyone who's interested... I had to create a Custom codebase and manually learn all the remotes codes, and this seems to be working okay for now. It took me a little bit to find that Custom codebase option though.

Do you have a TiVo based version (HR10-250) or just the regular one?

Mine is the TiVo, and almost all the functions were there out of the box.

I assume you did "Try and Learn" on every codeset for "Satellite Receiver (non DVR) -> Hughes"?

I have the regular (non-TiVo) based DirecTV HD receiver. The actual model # on the front of the unit is "DirecTV H10 HD". And I *think* I tried a few of some other Sat brands except for Hughes. What other brands would be best to IR Autoscan for - Sony, Toshiba, etc?

I was able to create a custom Sat receiver device with a custom codebase, but I have extra DVR screens on it that I don't need or want.

Does anyone know if there's a custom codeset for a Satellite Reciever (non-DVR) that doesn't include the extra DVR command pages. If so, please specify the brand. Thanks!

I assume the 3 DTV boxes are in seperate rooms, and you'll be creating the seperate rooms on the remote? It's not very difficult, it's just that the remote doesn't support all devices. And that's not really a problem as you can create a Custom codeset and just re-learn the codes for it. Setting up this remote will take less time than it does to program a Pronto, and the EPG is a nice feature.

Now that I have the remote programmed the way I want it, I just need to see how easy it is for the rest of the family to use it and I don't think there will be any issues. As with anything new, they just need to learn something different.

Unfortunately, there is no way that I know of to save or export RC9800i codesets. The only purpose of the RC9800i's USB PC connection is to update the firmware.

EDIT: Also, I just ended leaving the Sat receiver on all the time.

I just replaced the DirecTV H10 for a TiVo based DirecTV HR20-700. Do you remember what you selected for yours? Both DirecTV Sat non-PVR and PVR didn't work for me, and neither did Hughes.

Well, after replacing the H10 receiver with DirecTV's HR20 receiver, I have no problem with power codes - I had to manually learn the codes though.

The major issue now is that the remote won't turn of the Sat receiver. When I use the "Try and Learn" capability to test the IR codes - discrete On and Off codes work fine. However, when the activity turns off the system, the Sat receiver is left with the power on. When the Sat receiver is turned off, and I select the Watch Sat activity, the Sat power turns on with no issues - for some reason the remote just won't turn it off. Anyone else have this happen to them?
