I have a samsung tv (hp-r4252) and a samsung dvd player (hd850) and the problem is after I set up my activities the rc9800i always turns on the tv first. With my tv the dvd player needs to be turned on first or the tv will not switch into the hdmi source. As it is now the tv turns on then the dvd player turns on so the tv's source only goes into av not hdmi. Is there a way to change this so when I go into my "watch dvd activity" the rc9800i will turn on the dvd player before the tv? Thanks in advance.

dab250,

Sorry if I am missing something, but when you are setting up your activity to "watch DVD", doesn't the rc9800i ask you what input the TV should be on for watching a DVD? I thought the remote would turn the TV on first and switch it to the proper input (ie. HDMI) and then turn the DVD player on.

What you might try is play with the delays, maybe the remote sends its ir code too soon and therefore it is not recognized. You can delay these codes so your equipement is able to process them
