I have just bought the remote and am interested in playing my mp3 songs from my PCs through the A/V receiver on our speakers. But it seems it works only when we have remote on the cradle connected to the receiver. I can't take the remote with me and still play it over the home speakers. Sound comes out of the remote itself. Don't know if this is the requirement/restriction of this model.

Any information on your experience or a way to make it happen would be appreciated. Thanks.

the unite must be docked an hooked up via 3.5mm jack. I have been looking into this, as i want to buy(see other post). To get it to play mp3,even video, you need to hook up a media station to your tv/reciever. I have been looking into using the 9800i with a philips sl400i media station(~$250). This seems to be the best option for me, having a medium size home theatre. Another option for just mp3 is the roku soundbridge, you can find some info on that combo on these forums as well.
