Do you have any links (that you like) to information on this remote?

I hope you can talk about it because I would like to know your views on my post in the other thread of this forum about integration with ROKU Soundbridge which is UPnP. Please see ( [Link: remotecentral.com] ) where I discuss my concerns. Thanks.

I'm really excited by the potential of this remote, but wonder if the implementation will live up to the specs. I would really like home automation to be included. My home theater has embedded lighting and I would love to put that extra remote in a drawer. I would also like to good video streaming capabilities. I'm also very curious to see what Apple does with the Mac Mini as a home theater component. A Mac Mini with a wireless keyboard costs just a little more than the 9800i, but could act as a complete streaming media center, as well as providing Web surfing from your sofa.

Anyone have one of these yet? A prototype maybe?
It appears that this unit won't work with a Pronto RF Remote Extender. That's going to be a little bumpy with Plasma systems. The FAQs on the Philips site says they're "looking into" a wi-fi to ir adaptor, whatever looking into means.
Also, there is no software for developing graphics.
Still, lots of cool stuff.

The unit came by overnight UPS although I only paid for Ground.
The setup sequence is a bit tricky.
1. Charge the unit for three hours or more. 2. Download the updated software and install via the UPS port. 3. Proceed with setup. 4. Download the electronic program guide and after setting up your account.
