I've searched this Forum, but haven't been able to find a discrete on/off for this new Toshiba HD DVD player. Does anyone have them?

Here's mine. I generated these off of the discrete RS232/makehex/and the help of RC.com

[Link: poweroftheforce.com]

This is my whole PCF, but the HDA1 discretes are there. As a note, the discrete off does not work yet(IR and 232), but a bug report has been sent to Toshiba. Hopefully it will get fixed in the next firmware release.

Excellent, thanks.

I used your file, but the Power On (146) code is not working. Does that work for your HD-A1?

Yes, the on code works perfectly with my HDA1. The power off doesn't however...

Strange. Which button are you linking it to? I'm using the "Power On" code under "New Codes" and the HEX is 900A 006D 0000 0001 45B5 926D. Is this the code you're using?

I need to go look as I'm not currently at my computer that has the file... :(

However, if you look at the PCF I sent, you can see where it is linked to.

If you're still having problems, I can forward on the original hex, as the 900A is a converted. I just tried my remote out with my power on button, and it turned on. Pressed again, and nothing...no play, no power off, etc.

I think I linked it to the right button, bu if you could email the HEX to me that would be great. My email is [email protected]. Alternatively, if you want to just post the HEX here, that would also be great. Thanks.

BTW - For OFF, I just activated the "Standby" option on the player and it always shuts off after 20 minutes of non-usage.

Couldn't you use the discrete POWER ON for on and then use the remote's POWER toggle for off as a workaround?

It's possible. However, when the system is already off, you need to put in a very large delay (like a minute) before the HDA1 will respond to the toggle. The HDA1 takes a while to boot completely before it will respond to another IR command.

So, it would be:

Power ON
Delay 60sec
Power Toggle

It would be much easier when the system is already off (in my PCF, I don't turn everything on at once...I only have the components I am using turn on...if I decide to change source, that source will then turn on).
