So, I'm just in the process of updating my ProntoPro NG PCF layout, and since I've already been through the tedious process of exactly recreating the macros I used to generate my graphics (which were lost during a system change), I figured I'd ask if there were any new device icons that I needed to add.
I've already added the PS3, Wii and XBox 360 (several versions of each)... anything else?

Hi Daniel, before I start, your NG file is top notch.
I would love to have a specific device icon for Sky and Sky HD for the UK market, the footprint of this satalite also covers a fair part of europe so may well get a lot of use.
Also a device icon for freeview, which is a free to view digital platform which covers all of the UK, soon to be the only way of receiving terrestial tv in the UK through an ariel, it will replace analogue tv completely within the next 5 years.
And finally a device icon for windows, as I have some remote controlled loft windows.
Thanks Adam.

Daniel,
I could use "Antenna" in blue, "Cable DVR" in blue, "Cablecard" in blue.
Thanks, Dave

Daniel,
Could you please make some "Foxtel" graphics for Australian Pay TV.
Thanks, Simon

I would really like to see a large device called "DIGITS" with small numbers inside:
123 456 789
Thanks a lot for your great work,
stipus
PS: to improve your library, I also thought about more Receiver effect buttons. I see you already have nice Neo6 Music and Neo6 cinema buttons. It would be cool to have the same design for Dolby Pro Logic, Dolby Pro Logic II Cinema and Music, Mono, Stereo and Dolby PL IIx Movie & Music.

3 more ideas, as I'm using your large device icons to select a video input for my projector.
- One input is a DVD player (existing device icon) - One input is a PS3 (currently I chose the GAME device icon) - One input is a PC (existing device icon)
But 3 of my projector connectors do not have anything connected. In case I temporarily connect a device, I want to be able to select the correct input from the pronto interface.
This means I would need 3 undetermined device icons displaying the type of connector:
- VIDEO device (yellow RCA one) - S-VIDEO device - COMPONENT device (YUV)
Other users might be interested by :
- HDMI - DVI - VGA
Best regards,
stipus

Again, to reiterate comments above, I LOVE your layout and it is the only one I have used (bar my own experiments!) on my RU950 since the day I bought it brand new! Everyone who sees it first of all wonders what it is and is then extremely impressed with the look of it all. So thanks VERY much for your time and efforts:)
What would I add...well 1), for starters, I often just have wished I could edit things easier like category menus. It would be nice to have an A-Z, a-z, 0-99 + chars on their own so that we could make up our own text. Quit often I have found myself having to explain to the wife (always a battle with women and technology I find!) why a device has one of your category titles when the reason is because I did not really have a choice!
2) Again perhaps you could add a 'blank' main device icon with letter choices etc to make up our own if we really didn't have something? Off the top of my head, things I have really missed are: PS3, Xbox360, HTPC, DVB (which is UK Digital Video Broadcasting should you not know), Blu-Ray, HD DVD, DVD and HDD recorders, Philips Streamium and or generic icon for wifi music systems, icons for remote plugs/lights such as bye-bye standby, x10, lutron (lutron would be great) and other such things.
I personally think anything which enables us to create more things which seem 'personal' and which we could then submit to you in the future would help you expand the main file and cut down on your workload!
Keep up the great work and I really look forward to the update as the wife gets mixed up between Blu-ray, HD DVD, DVD and HDD being named as DVD1, DVD2, DVD3 etc!!!
Dave;)

Multiroom or Whole House Audio in red would be immensely helpful to me.
Daniel-Is there an update to the TSU-3500 icons in your future also? I have a color icon of the iPod in my 3500 file, but it looks a little off in there.

Thanks for this Daniel. There are definitely a couple of items that I've wished for, but also some really obscure stuff (the bracket that my TV is on, a remote control baby mobile) that I wouldn't think anybody else has, which definitely makes me think that I'd really, really love the abilility to build my own - a vector version you could edit would be great!
A few things I could have used in designing my Pronto layout:
Radio (just like tuner with different word) Media player Clean/Wipe the Pronto SKY+ (TV icon) SKY HD (TV Icon) Freeview (TV Icon) Sonos (music player) Internet Radio
Regards
Lee

Daniel, Like everyone else has said, your logos and PCF file is great. I've used a lot of your images in my own design. My only suggestion is if you can make the device icons (e.g. HD-DVD, 360, etc) in all the color formats. When I built my remote layout I used your device icons (green) and found I had to recolor a few to use them (e.g. I think HD-DVD was one). So if you have the time (yeah right!) and the inclination, could you make them all in the applicable colors? That's about it. I made my own 360 icon, but I'm sure yours will be better... EDIT - I made a custom 360 device logo and a 360 HD-DVD device logo actually. Daniel, you may want to make 360 game and 360 hd-dvd logos (as well PS3 game and bluray logos) for those of us that do crazy macros. Ross

Great to hear that there will be new device icons. Thanks, Daniel! You've got the best graphics!
My suggestions:
- Generic icons for Blu-Ray and HD-DVD would be great.
- An icon for TiVo Series 3 (HD-TiVo) would be very useful (especially for folks who have both standard TiVo and HD-TiVo, who need a way to distinguish between the two)
- I use the DSS icon, but a similar icon that says "DirecTV" instead of "DSS" would be nice to have (many people know what "DirecTV" is, but not necessarilly "DSS").
Thanks!

well, since we begging for Icons, here is my wish list in order(as I am working on a version of Daniel's PCF now...) 1. Something for a DVD Recorder/VHS. THey are very common now, and I can't think of a good way to do it. (Daniel you are far more creative that I am...) 2. I would love to have one for My Movies (it is part of Windows Media Center). A more generic alternative would be DVD (changer?) with the computer picture. 3. A DVR icon with a sat picutre would be nice as well.
I can always make these myself, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Mr. Tonks,
I was wondering if you could kindly inform me as to the font you use on both your large and small device icons as well as your GUI surf labels and how you were able to get the nice drop shadow ( or is that a thin black stroke ). I have tried in vain to reproduce the sharpness with very little success. The closest I could come was using Arial Narrow but was unable to make it match the others. I need several new surf icons like Surf XM Radio, Surf MP3's, Surf Photo's and Surf MIX along with Device Icons like Laptop and Selector. I was also wanting to replace the Power and Lighting for Games and Utilities. As you can see this would be asking a lot... so all I am asking for is a little bit of information so I can produce these myself. I can assure you my first attempt looked like a pizza with fuzz growing off the sides ( trying to remove the text so I could place my own text on the icon was... well lets not even go there ). Anyway, Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Sir and thank you so much for all your hard work on what can only be described as outstanding. Take care and have a great day.

I would love to get a generic device icon for a media center (i.e., not Windows Media Center, but a hardware device). It's not a computer, so the HTPC icon doesn't work, and the HDTV STB icon is not really my favourite (it kind of looks like a UFO, no offense ;)). Perhaps an icon that looks like a box with one antenna, or something like that? And the label would be Media Center (if it fits).
I also echo smileyw's request for another DVR icon. And, of course, also small versions of these new icons. ;)
Thanks for all your great work!
