I have made a new configuration on my ProntoPro (TSU7000) that includes a "Replay" functionality.

I found a PNG image that matches exactly the image on the remote control that I am emulating on the ProntoPro. It looks like this:

This image appears exactly as I expect it to in the ProntoPro Edit NG software, and I assign it the proper IR code for "Replay".

In the simulation within the software, the icon does NOT appear.

When I download the configuration to the ProntoPro, that image does NOT appear; nor can I click over where I expected to see it and get the "Replay" functionality I had entered.  In short, it's as if I have nothing in that space.  Yet, as I said above, in the software it appears exactly as I want it. But not in the simulation.

I thought that maybe the IR code had something to do with the problem, so I did a simple experiment.

(1)  I kept the PNG "Replay" image and I changed the IR code to something that I knew worked.  Made no difference.  It doesn't appear and I can't click on that space.

(2)  I kept the IR code as I wanted it, but changed the image to be another PNG image that does appear elsewhere.  That image appears fine on the ProntoPro and the functionality of the "Replay" works exactly as it should.

So the problem is with the PNG image.  Again, it appears fine in the software but doesn't download properly to the ProntoPro.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

There are some 2 color PNG images that cause issues. What I would recommend is to use an image editor such as GIMP and then go and convert the image to a 64K color PNG and try with that one.

If you can't figure it out, email me the png file and I will have a look.

Lyndel,

Given that this is a known issue, I decided to use Photoshop to "paste" the image I had on top of an oval and created then a new icon that looks like this:

That new image works fine.

Thank you for your offer to help.

Photoshop works. What you did is to upconvert your image from a 2 color Black and White PNG to deeper color depth which works just fine. If you don't want the outline, send me the original image and I can do something that works for it.

Not sure if this was a publicly known issue but when I had a 7000 and was doing the LowPro DVD Management (I did something very similar), I had problems with the Pitch Black (Vin Diesel) jacket picture showing up. Turns out was because it had a color palette of only 2 colors (Black and White) but the minimum for PNG was 8bits (256 colors). It has been a very long time since this occurred for me and I don't recall if indeed I was using PNG or BMP but based on what Len reports, It was likely PNG.

What most folks don't know is that on the 7000, the native file format for displaying images is BMP. That is, the software converts any image that is NOT a BMP (PNG, JPEG) into a BMP prior to download. The 2 color PNG caused me some issues for sure.

Do a search in this formum for the 4 following keywords

image format file size
