I have Philips ssTSu7500 with the version 2.1.8.0

And when I try and connect with the remote control. It says device not connecting properly ??? Am I out of luck

you need a device driver and a 32 bit os (vmware or virtual pc) to host it. i presume you are using 8.1 64 bit. the required driver is in the folder where you installed the editor.

I can also confirm, the ProtoEdit software will run on 64bit but, the driver will not run, so you can not connect your pronto to the PC, you will need a 32bit OS.

I actually have a XP VM (VMware player) to use for this on my 64 bit os....

BTW, on the preview of Windows 10, this software does not run at all, on 32bit or 64bit...
