Hi guys,

I have been trying for the last few hours to learn the DVR IR code for my Denon AVR 4310, each time I try it comes up and says communication with the device failed, the remote is then un usable and I have to pull the bettery to restart it, I have never had this problem before.
I tried a search but couldnt find it.

Does anyone have the DVR input IR code I can copy into ProntoProEdit?

Does anyone know about the above problem?

Thanks

Jasonvp made up a spreadsheet of Denon codes.  Use that in conjunction with IrMaster to make the Pronto Hex.  Specify Denon (don't use the very similar Sharp protocol) for the signals described as e.g. S2.197 (DVD input, Main Zone), and Denon-K for the signals described as e.g. K4.7.0.720 (DVD input, Zone 4).  Here is the complete list of available commands, but some translation is required....

Here is DVD input Main zone:  Denon Device 2, function 197

Hi Jason,
at least I have the same problems to learn new codes (Samsung DVD and HUMAX Sat) for my pronto. I have a Windows XP System and I have tried to make a download from the pronto . The result is at 1st it works. But at the 2nd try it comes the message communication with the device failed. I think the main problem is the usb driver.
Do you have only problems to learn the codes DVR IR code for my Denon AVR 4310 ?

I had the same issue yesterday with a 990 and a laptop running XP. I solved it by resetting the Pronto.

Disconnect the Pronto USB cable. Then open the battery cover and use a fine-pointed instrument to press the reset button.

Hi Chris,

i will try it next Thursday. Then I'll back from a journey.
My friend gave me the hint , i should make a new installation of ProntoNG-Editor and the usb driver. I have tried it but it doesn't work. So next try is the reset of the RU 990. Best regards Frank

Hi guys,

I found the code for the Denon and got that working,
I started to set up Foxtel on the remote and have the same problem, every time I go into learn the code I press learn IR and nothing happens then it comes up with the communication error, every time it lock's up the remote and I have to reset it.

I am a Mac user so the only reason I get the PC out is to work on the pronto, its a old PC and runs really slow, its running XP, last time which was probably about 12 months ago it worked just fine.
The pronto software hasn't changed so I don't know what the problem is?
Any aussie users have the foxtel HD IQ codes?

Ok, so nothing seems to be happening, are people still using these remotes?
I have everything working except I cant learn codes, it locks up the pronto every time I try.
I went to a mates house and tried it on both his machines, 1 running Windows 8 and 1 running Windows 7, I couldn't get pronto edit to run on windows 8 and managed to get it running on windows 7 but the USB driver wouldn't work.
Is there any software that will work on windows 7 or 8 with USB drivers?
Obviously Philips isn't doing anything with it as the latest pronto edit is from 2006.

I uninstalled pronto edit on my XP machine and reinstalled, I then tried another USB port and still nothing worked.

Some more testing and the remote will not learn directly from the remote either, I tried downloading a complete new file and it still will not work.
How do you do a hard reset (back to factory settings) on the remote?

Hi Jurgen,

sorry but its not possible to work with W7 or W8.
I have tried under Vista and it works , but you have make an installation of Pronto Edit NG with the Win-XP option.

Best regards
Frank

Hi Frank,

Thanks.
I use it also under Vista, with the Win-XP-option, but as I don't have W7 or W8 I was wondering if I could make Edit NG there, for when the time comes I'll have to try.

Best regards,
Jürgen

I tried once a while ago to run it on Windows 7 and it didn't work. Just two weeks ago after putting windows 7 on another computer I did it again and went to put the Pronto into a USB hub (which never worked for me before) Windows 7 loaded in the drivers and now it works.

So the message it is: give it a try - with a hub, you never know.
Best regards, Jürgen
