Denon tech support sent me a spreadsheet with numerous IR codes. I copied and pasted the one I need as a Custom IR code, and saved the PCF. But the button won't save the IR code I pasted in. I re-open the button, and there is a different IR code showing in Actions. I did not click the RC 5/6/MM button; am I supposed to do something with that?

What did you paste? What was the code modified to upon reopen?
And, after it was modified, did it work? Did you test on the remote?
What you are experiencing is IR code optimization that the NG editor does. In order for us to help, we will need answers to the above questions.

What you are experiencing is IR code optimization that the NG editor does. In order for us to help, we will need answers to the above questions. Code Denon gave me: 0000 006D 0000 0020 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0679 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 0679 Code that keeps coming back: 0000 006D 0000 0020 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0680 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 0680 When I click the button, there is no response from the receiver.

These two Pronto Hex are effectively the same, and both decode to Denon IR protocol, device 4, function 135. For at least some Denon receivers, that would command "Matrix". Is Matrix the function you have in mind? And does your receiver support it?

My receiver has a DSP button that navigates through five different sound settings. One of them is Matrix.

Are you pressing and holding a button with this code or trying to link to a button containing this code for use in a Macro? If in a Macro, try using the 'Duration' setting and change from 'Default' to something that will work.
You will need the last version of firmware and the latest PPENG to use 'Duration'.

You will need the last version of firmware and the latest PPENG to use 'Duration'. I always test new commands in discrete naked buttons (not Macros). I upped it to 1 second, then to 10 secs. Still doesn't do anything.

On some Denon units, I have heard that if you have an IR cord plugged into the back that the receiver on the front is disabled. Might you, by chance have this condition? Do any other codes work?

I've been using dozens of commands learned from the Denon remote into my Pronto for many years.

Below is a working Device 4 Function 135 from and earilier version of my config where I used both the Denon 5803 and next the Denon 5805. 0000 006D 0020 0000 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 06D5 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 001E Note that the code above is a one-shot vs a repeating code (signified by the 0020 being in 3rd slot vs the 4th). If this one works you may want to review this link should you have issues with other codes. [Link: files.remotecentral.com]I believe that the code I supplied came directly from the CCF in the download of this link or if not, I tweaked the one-shot vs repeating (swapped the 0020 and 0000). Note that with the zip, there is also a nice spreadsheet that maps the code names to the device and function as they were used on the 5803 which will likely work just fine for you in your main zone. You may also want to make sure you have the latest version of firwmare on your 7000 as well. Lyndel

I downloaded your ZIP, but it's too complicated. Would you please give me the 3300 code for Matrix I should try in the button?
BTW, I did jerry-rig a workaround Macro. I loaded commands as follows: 5-channel Stereo delay dsp delay dsp delay dsp delay dsp delay dsp delay
Result is Matrix. For some reason, the ONLY way my rear speakers are on is with the Matrix dsp. Go figure.

I pasted the code you asked about above.
The spreadsheet calls out a Device and a Function Column. In the CCF, there are pages that indicate which device and which function. The buttons are labelled with the function name.
It is really not all that difficult with limited technical experience once you realize that the Denon Protocol uses multiple devices and then functions in each device. Once that is understood, all things pretty much work themselves out.
That being said, you might try using other Surround Back IR commands to get those speakers on in a different mode. The Surround Back IR command in the spreadsheet will toggle the various modes of the surround back speakers.
