An ebay TSU 7000 I picked was not working so i tried adjusting the cables to the lcd and digitizer and ended up damaging the digitizer cable. I should have read more but I tried to remove the cable without sliding the black locking latch forward (dumb I know). So, I ordered a new digitizer which was $14 from China but it won't calibrate. 3 of the 4 corners are okay the 4th fails. My question is is this likely due a bad screen or due to the cable not seated right. Unlike the original it did not have the white end which looks slightly wider than the ribbon which could mean that it is not seating quite right. Is i worth picking up this one to try

or as a last resort

or just cutting my losses and selling on ebay as non working.

Any ideas/help appreciated.
Thanks
James

ok.... some progress. I have the vertically inverted screen that others have found. I just guessed that might be it and clicked bottom left for top left etc on the calibration and it calibrated! I know someone has rewired the ribbon to fix this can someone post how to do this. Thanks

more progress. ossocao kindly sent me a schematic of his ribbon mod (shown here)

I carefully scraped the plastic coating away near the touch screen where the tracks are a little bigger to expose copper. I then cut though 1 and 2 and soldered two fine wires to make the cross. It was quite tricky and while it was not the most elegant piece of work the electrons don't seem to care. The remote is working fine now - I was a little surprised that it was working! I don't have a back-light on the hard keys but that might have been broken before I am not sure as it came from ebay.

So its a $14 repair.
