Hi, I just purchased a TSU 7000 as a backup as I already have one. My everyday 7000 has firmware 3.7.7 and the ebay version has 3.0.51. I've tried to update the ebay unit to firware 3.7.7 and it keeps failing. The update program says to push the reset button on the back on the 7000. When I do it just hangs up and doesn't update. I also tried to update my everyday 7000 from 3.7.7 to 3.8.17 and I get the same results. I am using virtual XP on a Windows 7 proffesional laptop. The 7000 gets recognized with no issue and I can program and change in Pronto Edit NG and everything is OK but cant update the firware. Anyone have any idea? Could it be the virtual XP that's the issue?

Yes, it indeed could be the Virtual XP. I'd try a different PC such as a laptop with XP.

And on a 2nd note, are you doing the manual attach step as called out here?

Yes as a matter of fact. I have to mannualy attach to USB and select it in the virtual USB selection pulldown within XP each time i want to program my current 7000. I'll try my work XP machine tomorrow. As long as I don't have to install the NG edit software I will be OK. Work machines have us locked out from installing software. Have the firmware on a flash drive.

I used an old XP machine I had and loaded the initial version of Prontoeditpro ng software (downloaded from this site). Once I installed that software the TSU7000 with older firmware was recogniized and I was able to flash the firmware to 3.8.17 (latest) with no issues. Then I was able to go back to the virtual XP on my Win 7 laptop and transfer my config'd files to the ebay purchased 7000 with no issues.
