I've only been playing with the "high end" touchscreen remotes for about two years. After I got my first used RC9500 I loved it and bought four more - at the time I could snap them off of eBay like hot cakes, but now they are few, far between and selling for far more than is reasonable.

My problem is that I have spent a considerable amount of time setting up my remotes and don't want to start from scratch. The way I have my house set up, every single remote is identical and the home screen lets you select which room the remote is for. This has been fantastic because with just ONE config I always have a fresh remote around (never a dead battery since there is always one charging), just pick it up and select your room and you are back in business.

I'm wondering what remote replaced the RC9500. It's a bit chunky and I wouldn't mind a slimmer version, but most important is that I want to be able to use it WITH my existing RC9500's - meaning I want to be able to update my Wizz.It config, upload to the RC9500's but then also be able to convert that easily to whatever the new remote is. I looked at the TSU7500 but it seems that it isn't as good of a remote but I don't really know.

What would you all suggest? I hate to replace my whole system that I've spend countless hours programming IR codes and screens for, I would like to simply add on to it but keep the functionality that I have now.

I have a lot of stuff on the remote (in my mind - like 100 screens) but my RC9500's state they have 84% free memory so I suppose if something had less memory it would be fine. It'll suck to have a second charging 'station' for the new remotes but as long as the config is the same it really is a small price to pay.

Thanks!

TSU7500 is RC9500 with more hard buttons.

TSU9400 might be a good choice for you as you will likely not have to rework graphics. TSU9300 will work but does not support javascript. These are covered in the Philips Professional forum.

Thank you so much! I was thinking the TSU7000/7500 but didn't know that the 9400 would not only be a good replacement but that it was even out there!

Would this allow me to SHARE my configs between devices without a lot of trouble or do I need to create a 9400 config from scratch?

9400 has portait screen 320x200 so the only thing you will need to likely do is to update the hard button graphics below the screen. Note that the system areas at the top may be different heights but that should not pose too much of a problem. You should be able to bring your configuration forward using the 9400 configurator or PEP1 to convert from PCF to XCF and then load into the 9400 for test. Tweak graphics as you move forward.

I upgraded from a TSU7500 to a TSU9400 and it took less than an hour to make a few tweeks to my 7500 custom configuration so it looked good and ran properly on the 9400. (Mostly visual but I also had to change each device back from an RF extender to direct IR.)
