Would anyone have insight on the hardware present inside the RFX6000 or the RFX6500? I'd be rather curious to see if there is an rs-232 stage somewhere in there for the communication between the RF receiver and the IR emitters. If there is one, tapping right into it would open a whole LOT of possibilities.

No, there is not a 232 stage. The system is proprietary and takes the RF-modulated IR code data and converts to IR for retransmission. he

While that doesn't exist, you can use a Xantech IRS232 or IRS232-A to control RS-232 devices via the RFX6500. I've done that a few times, and it works great.
edit: ...just realized how old of a thread this is. I guess this forum doesn't get quite the volume it used to!
