Hi,

I just changed my IAP and therefore have a new TV Box (VIVO). As the title says I have a RU990 but my new cable remote is sending radio signals. Can the RU990 or TSU7000 learn Radio codes. If yes how to do so? If no is there a turnaround (the RF extender)
Thank you for your help

Best
Bruno

The simple answer is "no".

However some people have had some luck using part of the Powermid setup. I have had very limites success too.

I used the RF remote to fire at the part of the Powermid that rcieves the RF and turns it back into IR and aimed the Powermid IR output to my RC9500 (RU990 equivalent) and was able to learn the resulting IR code which did then control the RF item when the Pronto was set to RF.

It was very "hit & miss" and took quite a few tries. I also already had the full Powermid set so there was no expense just to give it a try and it only works for 433MHz RF.

Thanks a lot Stoobie.
Could you please tell me exactly what Powermid is. I understand your process, so it means I have to buy the RF extender ?
Have a nice sunday

Hi Bruno

Powermid is a make of IR extender. See here for the full kit:-

Or you can just buy the RF to IR part:-

Edit - I meant to add that this only works for the Euro Spec Prontos so will work with the Philips RU950/960/970/980/990 Marantz RC5200/5400/9200/9500 but will not work for the TSU3000/3500/6000/7000/7500 or US Marantz
