I stumbled across a client who needs me to make some programming changes to their RC9500. I downloaded Wizz.it9 from the Marantz site, but when I connect to the remote to upload the existing file, I get an error that I'm missing the RC9500.sys file, which I think is the USB driver for this remote. Any suggestions on where I can get this file?

Thanks,

Ed

If you have a CD with the software, it should be on there. Did you check for a 'Drivers' folder in the folder where you installed Wizz.it?

You can follow the instructions I posted on reinstalling the ProntoNG.sys file which is the driver for the 7000/7500. Simply do a search for reinstall driver and I'm sure you'll find my post.

You're brilliant. Just like you said, there's a "Drivers" folder in the Wizz.it folder. It contains the driver I needed. Problem solved.

Thanks!

Well, not brilliant. Just know the software package really well.

Is there a Vista driver? I can't seem to find a driver, even if I go to the Driver folder in the Wizz.it folder.

Nope, you are SOL. Search this forum for Vista or Windows 7. You may be able to run in 'compatibility' mode.

The Marantz remote is a branded TSU7000/7500 in a different case. Same rules apply for Marantz as do for the Philips versions.

You will be able to run it in XP SP2 compatibility mode providing you are using 32bit Vista. I also found I had to install the software as administrator and run it as administrator or it does not work.

It is important to install the software first WITHOUT the RC9500 connected as that seems to mess up the installation.

I have been using WIzz.it 9 with two RC9500's for years flawlessly. One of my RC9500's died and I bough a used one from eBay which works but I cannot get it to download/upload with the Wizz.it 9.
My current RC9500's are running Boot V4.31 and App V3.10.5. My new RC9500 is running Boot V3.75 and App V3.2.17.
I tried a firmware update but again can't communicate with the RC9500.

I suspect that a different USB driver was used with the older boot/app. Any ideas?
