Hi,
I've got a Marantz RC9500 that i'm using in RF mode. I can get it to work perfectly with everything else in my theater except for the iMon. If I switch to IR mode it will control my HTPC just fine, but turn it back to RF and it won't do it. I've read as much as I can, but I can't figure this out. Any suggestions?

Mark,

This may sound a really daft question, so don't shoot me for asking, but is your RFX6500 controling other stuff with RF? Do you have the channel for the RF on your RC9500 set to the same channel as the RFX6500?

No problem with the question.....yes it is controlling everything from RF. My AV room is set off from the theater room so it has to be RF. I made sure my channels were all the same and even changed them all once just to see if it made any difference, but sadly none. When I changed back to IR I can point at the IR input on the HTPC and it works just fine. Any suggestions?

Try different emitter placement on the unit. Also check that what you believe to be the I/R target on the unit is actually that.

Simon.

Hi Brian,

I can see you are a fairly new member so I hope you don't mind me making a few suggestions.

You are probably aware but your RC9500 is essentially the same the same as the TSU7000/7500 or the RU980/990 so any suggestions for those will apply to yours and they are by far more popular on these forums and there are loads of fellow users who will probably be able to help.

I would suggest a search on this Philips Pronto NG Family forum along the lines of "learning problem short/long press" or something along those lines. I know this has been discussed in the past.

If you don't find anything you may want to start a new thread because although the title of this thread mentions RC9500 you are unlikely to get regular users/knowlegible experts looking at this thread as it is very specific as to what it was trying to fix.

I would head a new thread something like TSU7500/RC9500 problem leaning short/long press codes.

Sorry I can't actually help with your problem though.

Good luck
