I’m a newbie. Tried to learn the codes but got different codes each time. I received the XMP "HEX codes" for a PACE TDS-850 from the supplier. How do I convert this into HEX code that the ProntoProEdit NG will recognise? Example of the “HEX code” received.

I'll try these codes to night. What did you use to generate the ALT, TV and power button? I have all the XMP HEX codes for all the buttons. If these buttons work, how do I convert the rest of the XMP HEX code to Pronto HEX code?

Just ignore the Samsung references.

If you use IR Panels to create a CCF file you will need to convert the Hex Codes they gave you to Decimal so you know what Function Number they are. You can use the calculator in windows OS and set it to scientific mode to convert Hex to Decimal.

Or if it is all to much to take in, I will do it for you!

Thank you for your assistance. The apps you recommended is brilliant. I got it right first time. Only used MakeHEX and IR tool. Still need to try the others out to see what they do. If you could forward the PCF file I would like to have a look at it. The only strange thing that I saw is that ProntoProEdit NG changes the HEX code after you saved it. But it still works so I'm not complaining.

I am trying to get mediaportal controlling my South African sat system. This is what has been given to me by the manufacturers of the receiver.

Any ideas how you can convert this into a .ir file that I could use. I followed you link but couldn't make head or tais of which tools to use to convert.

Any help ould be appreciated

All I can ise are the plain ir codes. Sort of in the same format as the formicasa.

ID S2059 (I guess this is the device code)
(reg: 17479) (I don't know what this is???)

I have entered the following in the xmp.irp file:

...

What should I do with the (reg: 17479) ?

I have generated the hex file and tested the codes as specified by the manufacturer but they don't work. So I guess I am still missing something.

I reverse engineered XMP long ago and wrote most of the tools that Jason and other experts here are using for these things.

But I never learned the official XMP terminology, so I have no clue what "ID S2059" or "reg: 17479" mean.

But I can see that the earlier posts in this thread give the exact same "ID S2059" and "reg: 17479" that you requested and I see Jason posted Pronto Hex that fits the following contents in XMP.irp

Device=71.17
Function=0..512
Define A=S:4:4
Define B=3908
Define G=0
Define H=8
Define J=S

Since others seem to be confirming those Pronto Hex strings work, I assume Jason knows what he is doing in converting from "ID S2059" or "reg: 17479" to Device=71.17

I will investigate it a bit further.

I find it strange that the info you provided is the same as Post 1 but the Hex Codes don`t work for you when they do for others.

Maybe your are doing something else wrong or the info you Posted is wrong.

Can you learn some Commands (Functions) off the original remote and Post your results?
