Hi, I'm new to this forum and I apologize if this question has been asked before but I performed a search and did not find the info. So here goes...

I downloaded Daniel's pcf for some ideas in order to create my own. Most things are pretty self explanatory when it comes to programming the 7500 but the one thing Daniel did that I can't seem to re-create is his custom transmission icon that blinks on the screen every time an icon or hard button is pressed.

Stupid question time...

How do I accomplish this feat?

Thanks for any help, guys and gals.

Jake -

Take a look at the image that has been assigned to the "Pressed state" for the buttons and you will find your answer.

I greatly appreciate your answer but there is no 'pressed state' for this icon. When I try to look at the properties it says "no properties available."

Perhaps I didn't make my question clear enough... Daniel has a little icon in the top, right corner of his layout. The icon is three curved bars, one slightly larger than the next, that looks like a radio frequency transmission symbol being emitted. When any other icon on the screen is pressed this little transmission icon blinks in a manner that simulates a transmission being sent. I would like to re-create this effect with another graphic.

Anyone...? Beuhler...?

"Possibly an image from (Insert --> System Item) or maybe one that he created, either case you'll need to placed it on the System Page", replied the Economics Teacher :-)

Refer to Help's System Page for a better understanding.

Now we're getting somewhere! Would you happen to have any friendly advice as to how to access the XML file? I have an XML editing program but where can I find the XML file?

Okay, I'm new to this site but not to computers. I searched for an XML file prior to asking the question. The only thing that remotely deals with xml in the Philips folder is a dll file that has xml in the title.

Is there anyone on this forum that has actual experience with changing the activity icon? Daniel...?

Rename your .PCF to .ZIP, then open it as a zip file, and you will find the XML as well as the images.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

That worked! I didn't touch the XML file though. I simply replaced the bmp file with the one I wanted. I really appreciate the help!!!

Great to hear.

Sorry that searching for "XML" did not lead you to discovering that the zip format.

It is also in the FAQ which is where I should have directed you. If you have not done so already, please read the FAQ.
