ok.
I have a 7500, and know the IR codes for the powering on of devices works, b/c I can test them in IR mode and it works ok. IR transmission of code is .3 seconds.

Equipment:
Toshiba DLPTV-set to IR
DirecTV H20,-set to RF set to chanel 1: id 3
Bose 123 pre-amp, set to RF channel 1: id 3

SO far my Power on/off sequence is as such:
Delay .2
Link to basement DTVH20 Power on
delay .5 sec
Link to TV Power On
delay .5 sec
Link to Bose Power On

FOr some reason the Directv will only recognize the IR command some of the time, like 30%. The code is correct.

Any ideas?

When everything is correct but does not work correctly, then everything is not correct. I find in a situation like this that I have to back up at least one step.

How do you know the code is correct?

Did you perhaps accidentally write IR but mean RF? The thread says you have trouble with multiple RF signals (not commands), which led me to believe you had signals coming from more than one device. But then you say you have problems with an IR command. You have to have the IR commands working solidly before you can attempt to have reliable RF results.

Please clarify.

By the way, if you did mean IR, does the DirecTV only recognize the IR command from its own remote only about 30% of the time?

Oh, yeah, I just noticed you are only referring to power commands. Do all of the other commands work perfectly in IR and RF, but just the DirecTV power command is giving you problems?

I have seen problems like this when the LED is not placed perfectly, either too far from the IR window, or right on top of it overpowering it. Those problems occurred with different models. Have you experimented with LED placement?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Interesting you mentioned the IR emitter overpowering the DirecTV receiver.
I might try changing the strength of the IR bugger and see if that helps.

I meant multiple RF commands, not signals. Sorry.

The codes are correct, since they work via IR from the remote.

Philips RF Extender driven DirecTV Receivers
respond sporadically when their output
resolution is set to 720p.

Try locking the DirecTV receiver's
resolution to 1080i, also remove
the little antenna from the back of
the DirecTV box if it has one.

You may need to place a small piece of
black electrical tape over the DirecTV's
IR sensor before installing the Philips
IR emitter. Some DirecTV receivers have
extremely sensitive IR sensors and will
clip/distort the IR signal if it's too strong.

The HR20 DirecTV receiver is the most finicky
when it comes to RF interference and
IR flasher output level.
It gets better all the time.

Likely it is a problem with the IR emitter and its location on the DirecTV box. Many, many stories here about the IR emitter overloading the IR receiver. Move the IR emmitter slightly away from the IR receiver and keep experimenting.
