Having a wierd problem and in need of help. Using a TSU7500 -> RFX6500 -> IR Leads (no blaster) -> Directv HR20.
Using Ron Zablocki's PCF files (thanks Ron). All codes work fine except that the HR20 frequently stop responding.
Example: I'll be arrowing down through the guide and it will just stop and freeze up for 30 seconds or something. No response from any HR20 function. While it's frozen, the RF receiver and blaster are seeing the signal and blinking. After a while it starts working again at 100%. So I either have full control or no control. (factory remote always works by the way)
I have tried repositioning the RF antenna and increasing the IR intensity. The RF receiver isn't seeing any interference and every other component in my system works 100%. I'm totally frustrated
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Switch the HR20. They used to lock up like that.

Never does this with the factory remote though, so I'm not 100% sure it's the HR20.
Plus, Directv isn't going to replace it because my aftermarket remote isn't functioning properly with it.

If it locks up an refuses commands from its own remote... so what if it happened because you used a 3rd party remote. If the IR processor locks up ... its a replace.

It always works with the factory remote. Either way, I came home today and unplugged the RFX6500 for a few minutes and that has seemed to fix the problem.
Thanks for the replies. I appreciate it.

Glad to hear your problem may be gone.
I run the same 7500-6500 combo (also using ir leads) to control two hr20s and have never had a problem like you describe. If your problem comes back, try asking around at:

If there is a solution, someone there will undoubtedly have it.

Good luck,

Seen this problem many times before...

Try moving the emitter to the side of the HR20's eye instead of right o it. Should clear up your problem.

I guess I did leave off the obvious stuff...
Sorry.

Turn off the front blaster of the 6500. Turn all the outputs to the lowest setting. Move the flasher about 1 inch from the IR window.
