Hi, this is probably a dumb question but I have searched for hours.. how can I get my pronto ng to keep transmitting the IR code until I stop pressing? I realise this is what it does for volume etc but for the Apple TV I have to keep tapping the thing, which when you have 200,000 tunes is a bit laborious.
Any ideas?

You could try learning the signal again. Also make sure that signal is the only thing in the action list for the Pronto button you are pressing.

The normal behavior is to continue sending the signal until you stop pressing. Sometimes a signal is learned badly in a way that prevents the Pronto from continuing to send it. Also the Pronto won't continue to send the signal if there are any other actions (including a delay) in the action list of the button.

If you post the Pronto Hex for the learned signal, I can tell you whether failing to continue is caused by a learning problem and if it is, I probably can give you corrected Pronto Hex, so you won't need to relearn the signal.

Try to adjust duration of the signal too, increase a bit.

Thanks, I tried but no luck. Learning from the apple remote to the Pronto provides codes that don't seem to work at all. I got the following codes from Mitch here, which work fine but again without the repeat.

I may find time later to tell you how to construct a full set of clean codes using the MakeHex program.

But for now, it is pretty easy to patch the above codes to make repeat work correctly:

Notice the third and fourth values in each string, which are 0024 0000 in most of them.

To fix them you must reduce the third value by 2 (change 0024 to 0022 or change 0026 to 0024) and change the fourth value to 0002.

For example, the "+" signal would become

0000 006e 0022 0002 0156 00ac 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0040 0016 0016 0016 0040 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0016 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0016 0016 058d 0156 0055 0016 00ac

I may have spoke too soon. The edited codes now work slightly better, in that I can skip a couple down the menu, instead of one by one, so it looks like the code is repeating. But it stops after two or three occurrences. Do you think the fact that I am using an RF extender would make a difference? I have tried various code timing lengths but no difference..
thanks

I see I made a mistake (missed another problem in the original signals), but I don't see how that fits the symptoms you described. Try this correction anyway:

The final value (00ac in the samples you posted) is supposed to be 0e48

What did you mean by "code timing lengths"?

I don't know whether the RF extender is a factor.
