Hi,
My pronto keeps turning on my Denon 3806 avr zone2 when I only want the main zone.
Can you point me in the right direction to fix this? I use zone2 in my garage and it hacks me off big time to go outside and find it blaring away in the middle of the night!
Thanks

I have a 4306 and currently have my tsu7500 set up for seven speaker surround. However, at our old house, I did have zone two enabled.
To run zone one, I had my pcf set to just turn on zone one. There are separate code sets for zones 1, 2 and 3. I believe that there might be a code that turns all three zones on at the same time, but I really can't be certain as I never wanted that function. As you know, the Denons are highly configurable, as are the Prontos. When you mix the two, the permutaions for setting them up are virtually endless.
Just go into your pcf and check which codes are being used when you turn on your Denon.
I got the discrete codes for the Denon from the files on this site and used them. I believe I used the codes from someone's 3806 configuration and they work fine for my 4306, so you should have no problem.
Good luck,
Rick

Thanks for the reply Rick. I did as you suggested and found a discrete main zone power code from the file section... weird thing is that I learned from the original remote and it didn't work correctly.

I know, I found it odd that there are some discrete codes that aren't even on the original remote! Makes things easier if you don't have to scroll through things but can get something with a one-button push.

This is the general story of discretes: they aren't on the factory remote. Discretes are sometimes available from the manufacturer sites, sometimes from kind souls here who take their own time to generate all possible codes, then find out what they do and send them to the site for free.

Treasure every discrete code you get. Most of the manufacturers have yet to hear that this is the ONLY way to go.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

To clarify on this subject...

There are separate zone 1-3 discrete power codes AND a master power codes for the denon receivers. The master on will turn on the receiver to its last state of operation. If one or more of the other zones was on previously then they will come back on. If they were off they will remain off. It is a cool feature for those using the native remote that always have the same "scene" selected.

The off works like an all zone off. I am not sure if the return to last state feature is a function of the Master on or Master off command.
