Ok...got the unknown board to talk to my laptop. Installed ProntoEditNG ans used the 3K profile. Already uploaded the ccf that was in it. So, basically, all I got is anempty 7K body, a new dock, and a better battery.

The USB drive will drive any Pronto attached to your PC.

I only paid $50-something for it, so it's not really worth sending back. Besides, now I have two docks and two power cables which makes it all the more worth while to program the remote for a second room. As for the screen, when they tried to make it fit into the 7K body, they literally GROUND (with a grinder or dremel) the grounding solder off of one side of the screen frame and at the same time, they ground through the ribbon cables that wrap arount that side of the screen. Also, the touchscreen is cracked. The only good part of that assembly that is any good is the EL backlight.

That's what I figured with the USB. The only thing that concerns me is that my board booted AND talked to the PC without the LCD or touchscreen connected, yet John's won't. I have already dropped it off at the post office to get it back to him. Nothing I could do.

Mick, I have not received my remote back, and you are no longer responding to my e-mails. What's up?
