I run a dual boot system w/ Vista 64 bit and XP 32 bit on separate HD's. My Pronto SW is installed on XP and I just boot to that disk/OS when I need to access old apps that are not supported on Vista.

As an eye opener that a 64-bit driver or software for the NG remotes will likely NEVER be available, see this post. ;-) The 7000/7500 remotes are also discontinued.

In case anyone is still looking for a solution for NG TSU3500, I was able to install prontoeditNG using XP SP2 compatibility mode under Vista x64 bit SP2.
When conecting the remote, it is seen as an HID device, but uploads and downloads work fine.

The 3000/3500 use standard HID device drivers. The 7000/7500 does not.

I got my RU990 working on my fresh Windows 7 64bit installation. In a way.

I have VMWare Workstation. What I did was plug in the remote control with no VMware running. Windows 7 detects the device as an 'unknown device'.

Go into device manager and manually change the driver of the device to 'VMWare USB Device'. It will complain a bit but force it through anyway.

Then boot into your Windows XP Vmware machine. Install Pronto Edit NG and the driver. Plug in the remote and the Windows XP VM will detect the Pronto correctly. You can then download/update your config file from within the VM.

Saves lots of dual booting and hassle.

version 1.1.2 does install & runs on Win7 64bit. It gave me an install error at the end but it seems to be ok. I'm at work right now and cannot test the rest of functionality but this may be the only way to go...

i'll test it out later today at home.

Good news, bad news- bad news first- the driver for the TSU7000/7500 is not and never will be compatible with any x64 OS. Just ain't going to happen without a rewrite- which Phillips is obviously not going to do.

Good news, however is that Win7 x64 (and x86 for that matter) now includes Virtual PC/Virtual Windows XP as a free download. Both are KB's- just do a search. Install is fast & easy- install Virtual PC first then Virtual Windows XP. Install the ProntoProEdit software, connect your remote and you're good to go. Very tight integration and even installs the PPE application on your Win7 Start Menu so you can just click on that which will launch the PPE app in your Virtual XP- slick indeed.

All the better reason to get on board with Win7.

Just an FYI for everyone, my TSU7000 interfaces without a hitch in Win7 32-bit.
