I'm currently trying to connect my tsu 7500 ( I have 990 european model) to vista 64bit, but the system can't find a driver for it.
Is there a 64bit driver for it anywhere.
Any idea?

Thanks for any info.

Did you contact Philips? I've heard rumors of a Vista Driver but not sure if it is for the 64-bit Vista version.

I'd also be interested in this. I just got a TSU7500 today and whilst I have a Vista 32-bit machine, my home theatre PC is Vista 64-bit and I'd prefer to program the remote from that, if possible.

A 64-bit driver should be trivial for Philips, but unfortunately that doesn't mean it has been done...

I recently posted a thread about Vista compatibility with the Pronto Pro NG remotes and software. Was told everything was okay. I didn't mention that I'd be looking towards the 64-bit Vista, as I'd be buying one of the Core 2 Duo's or the X2s..

Maybe I should add this to my other thread..

64-bit Windows doesn't get very much respect. I work in IT and I have a hard enough time finding drivers for some of the major components. I really don't understand why except that most everybody has 32-bit and that must be where the money is.

I think 64-bit users are probably going to be out of luck. Philips doesn't bother to make their Pronto work with any platform other than Windows XP or older. It's only by luck that it works with 32-bit Vista (and then there have been some posts on here from Vista users having trouble).

Personally, I haven't had too many problems getting 64-bit drivers (for XP x64 or Vista 64-bit), with a couple of exceptions, but you are correct, support is nowhere near as good as it is for 32-bit.

I did contact Philips to ask about a 64-bit driver (I should have asked them about Vista at the same time but forgot) on Friday, but have not yet had a response.

I don't hold out much hope, but you never know...

Incidentally, I can confirm that, at least for me, the TSU7500 driver and software are working fine for me on Vista 32-bit (as did an update to the latest TSU7500 firmware).

Well, I did actually hear back from Philips this morning and the news isn't good, but it does at least sound like the issue is being considered. I'll let you read the actual response for yourselves:

Thank you for contacting Philips customer services regarding the issues that you are experiencing with your TSU7500

Philips has not yet released any 64 Bit drivers and we have received no information if such drivers will be available in the future and which models will be supported.

The same goes for the software which for the moment can only be used with 32 bit OS systems.

We hope to receive additional information on this subject in due time.

We hope we answered your question satisfactorily.

I have a 64-bit Vista machine. My TSU7000 driver WAS working fine, and then all of a sudden my computer doesn't recognize the remote nor the existing driver. Does anyone know how to install the driver in 32-bit?

Yes. Search for +potential +USB +driver +issues since dawn of time in this forum. If you don't find my thread that discusses driver reinstall, try +potential +USB +issues and you should find it.

I check this site daily with hopes that an answer for that problem will show up. I have little faith that there will ever be a solution. Luckily, I have another computer with 32 bit Vista to download any future compilations.

As an eye opener that a 64-bit driver or software for the NG remotes will likely NEVER be available, see this post. ;-) The 7000/7500 remotes are also discontinued.
