Hi everybody,

Just joined this site again - after what must be a 5 or 6 year gap since having my first and only Pronto RU940 (apparently my uploaded config has been downloaded over 31 thousand times!!!).

My pronot has been fantastic but recently the screen has started playing up and doesn't really respond - not sure why (maybe that half pint of beer over it didn't help - at least I drank the first half!!!)

Anyway, I just wanted some reassurance about possibly upgrading to the Pronto NG RU960 (as it's refered to in the UK - and I guess it's called the TSU 3000 in the US).

Based on what I read from old threads/reviews and stuff I'm concerned about 2 issues and just wanted find out how much of an issue they are:

1) Remote failing within a year: Some of the user reviews seem to indicate that the units fail within a year and that trying to get Philips customer support to do anything about it is a nightmare. Is this still the case or are the remotes much more stable now?

2) Button press to sent signal response: The main review on this site seems to suggest that the time between pressing a remote button and the signal being sent is far greater than that of the old Pronto and the delay being significant. Is this the case or a slight exaggeration?

I would love to get the full colour version but can't afford and cannot justify the huge expense for technology that has now been around for ages - when you consider you can get a PDA which more toys for far less.

Thanks for any feedback you have to give.

Chris
