Trying to integrate an Apple TV into Pronto NG (TSU-7000) configuration. I have learned the codes from the apple remote (which was not paired to the aTV). These learned codes were:

900a 006d 0000 0001 ee87 0b9f : Volume Up
900a 006d 0000 0001 ee87 0d9f : Volume Down
900a 006d 0000 0001 ee87 029f : Menu
900a 006d 0000 0001 ee87 089f : Reverse
900a 006d 0000 0001 ee87 049f : Play / Pause
900a 006d 0000 0001 ee87 079f : Forward

But when testing these codes, nothing happens. Using the Apple Remote control works fine, but Pronto NG is not sending the correct codes or these are not the real codes. I relearned the codes several times and used three different Apple Remotes, with the same results.

Any one have similar issue or better set of codes?

Hmmmmm.... I learned the codes directly from an apple remote (into an MX-850 & MX-650) and have used it on several other apple products (including the Apple TV) without problem.

I don't have a 7000 but I could learn them into a 6000 and see if it works.

I'll report back......

You could also try adjusting the duration of the codes. This sometimes works.

Mitch - this code works for me, but the ones I learned from my Apple TV remote don't. Any chance you could post (or PM me) the other codes, please? BTW did you pair the remote before learning?

i'd be interested in the codes if you could post/share, i'm learning them from a macTV remote, and they're much shorter than the ones posted at the top of thread.

I would also love to see those codes.. the short ones work occasionally, but not well enough. The long ones work fine.

Anyone here understand why that isn't the same as what Mike posted?
The second to last pair of digits is the command number. I really wouldn't expect that to be different (04 in Mike's 05 in Mitch's). Are those both really the Play/Pause command or was someone confused about which command is which?
The last pair of digits (9f vs. 76) is probably a unit code of some kind. Is that related to the "not paired to the aTV" statement?

Graeme and jacaranda both say the long form worked better that the short form they learned. But they didn't post the short form so we could see if it was the same signal.

I don't understand why the long form would work better. But I made up a set in the long form based on the timing and last pair of digits from Mitch's sample: The Function label on each is the last four digits the same signal would have in short form. Who do these work for and do they work better thasn the short form?

"Pairing" means the AppleTV will only recognize a particular remote, so you can use separate remotes to control different Apple devices in the same room. I "learned" the same codes as Michael but with a different last 2 digits, so my guess is those last 2 digits identify the remote for "pairing".

The short codes work for me on a TSU3000, but not completely reliably. I was able to improve this by adjusting the duration. 0.25 seconds works reasonably OK for me. The AppleTV is still sometimes finicky about how you aim the remote, though.

The long codes did not work for me except for the play/pause code that Mitch posted.

More on this.

I have a client with a TSU9600 and an Apple TV. I cannot get the codes for the Apple TV to work. I have tried different versions, which have worked on Nevo SL remotes, with no success on the Pronto.

So, we tried learning his original Apple TV remote into the TSU9600. I am remote to him, so we did this over the phone. He learned all six codes into the TSU9600 and the only one which worked was (-). The rest did not. We learned these several times with the exact same results. I also modified the duration up to .1 and no difference. Maybe I needed to go further?

So, he sent me his Apple TV remote. I have learned it into a TSU7000 with the following results: ( Note: I do not know if these work yet.)

Interestingly, only the (-) command ends in 0E35 and all of the rest of the codes in this learning seesion, all end in 0E36. Maybe this is a clue why only (-) worked originally? However, he has not tried these particular codes yet.

So, John, can you make anything out of all this info? Again, the info I am sure you want is; did they work? I don’t know yet. I sent the TSU9600 config to my client with the TSU9400 codes. I am waiting to hear back.

I'll try to find time later, when I'm at a better computer, to check the encoded values. But I can't imagine how there would be any unexpected results from that check.

All the codes you posted look good. None of the differences you may see (between different learns of the same command) matter. I would expect all of them to work.

This looks like the problems I had with the first TSU3000 I worked with, but with a twist that might help. I had codes in the long form, learned with a TS1000. When I copied and pasted them into the 3000, they came out as the short form after closing the edit window and reopening it. Have you checked with the above long codes to see if your remote is changing them to the short form? There might be something wrong with that process, and from the posts I've read it's likely to be a duration issue. I never did figure out what was wrong with the TSU3000 -- we changed remotes.

Also, there are three varieties of learners that I've had ZERO problems with: the Crestron, the RTI, and any TS1000/TSU2000/TSU6000. Carry a TS1000 with you for cases like this. You'll be able to learn codes and test them much more easily than you can with the Crestron or RTI learner.

If it is still relevant I pasted the above ATI learned codes into my TSU9600 and they worked properly including accelerating scrolling when held down (most other codes I have tried did not do this). I have the duration set 0.07 although I have not bothered playing with this to see if any other values also work.

If anyone's still watching this thread, perhaps you could answer a couple of questions. I've recently moved to a Control4 setup with a single remote controlling all devices, including an Apple TV. The installer set up the basic remote functions from the Apple Remote, however he had issues with getting the press-and-hold signals, such as holding down the Menu button to get back to the main menu in one step, or holding down the FF and Rewind buttons to cue through video files at quicker speeds. Does anyone know if the Apple Remote sends a different code if its buttons are held down?

The installer did not have any apparatus for reading the codes directly from the remote, I believe he was using a supplied set of codes from Control4 which were missing these extra functions. Any help greatly appreciated.

The first part of the signal from an Apple remote contains the command and is sent only once. Then when you hold the button down the remote sends a repeating signal that means only that the button is still pressed (it doesn't remind the receiving device WHICH button is still held).

Your description isn't quite clear enough to tell me which aspect of that isn't working for you (maybe because I know so little about Control4). But I expect the problem is in the way the Control4 was programmed to process press-and-hold.
