I have taken a picture of my original remote control for my tv. Put it on my TSU7000 for the background picture. What I want to do is insert buttons under picture so it looks like I am pressing the buttons on the picture remote control. I managed to put buttons behind picture. However when downloaded to remote nothing happens please help.

Thanks Paul

I don't think you can have the buttons under the background. I believe they need to be on top of it. They can't be completely transparent or you can't press them so search the forum for "99% transparent" and there should be some help on how to make your buttons.

Well, i have done this with TOO many remotes, the best way to do this from experience, is to take a .jpg photo of the remote, use that as the background. Open that same .jpg photo into photoshop or whatever photo editing progam that u use, Crop each individual button on the remote, after this you should have a bunch of small .jpg/.bmp/.png buttons that look like your remote, open all of this in the pronto editor, place the large file as your background, place all the little files on top of the background and Viola, it works. What i have done in the past is either take all of those "little" photos and tweak each one of them a little bit, like fade, or brightness or color difference, so you now have a regular state, and a pressed state for each button. I hope that helps you. Let me know if you need a demo file i have done.

The buttons need to be on top of your background picture of the remote, otherwise there is no way for you to click on them in the remote. I've done just as your suggesting with regards to the cable box remote for my TSU7500 PCF as seen below.

The DVR page above originated from a scan I took of the actual remote. From that scan I created a background image in Photoshop of the DVR section of the remote, then selecting each button area of the background image and cropping to create each of the buttons for later import into PPENG. While the process I followed was a bit more involved than that those are the basics. In the end my DVR page turned out identical to the original remote, but sized to fit the available screen area I had to work with. Also, when pressing a given button on this page said button becomes a little bit smaller as to give you a visual indication that the button is being pressed in.

To check out my DVR page first hand feel free to download my TSU7500 PCF linked to in my signature area below. My PCF also contains a full screen version of my IR543 device as seen here. In this case I have the buttons light up red when pressed on the remote. Turned out really well.
