I've recently purchased a TSU 3000 and have been working on a Daniel Tonks inspired layout. I've also updated to the latest firmware.

I cannot locate the codes I need for various devices, so decided to use the learning eye to capture the codes I need. When using the device page for my amplifier, I can hold down the left hard button at the bottom of the screen and the device enters the 'system' screen from where I can select the learn function. It takes me back to the amplifier page, and I have now used the learn feature to input all my amplifier codes.

When on other device pages, holding the left hard button has no effect. I cannot enter the system screen. The user manual says that I should navigate to the other pages I need to edit, however I cannot work out how to navigate as each time I press a button when in 'learn' mode, it just wants to learn a new code for the button that I have pressed! Can anyone provide advice on how to navigate to the other device pages so I can learn the codes?

Thanks,

TheOoz

It's easier to learn from within ProntoEdit with the Pronto connected to your PC.

Also, you should have all your codes on one hidden page and use links elsewhere to link to these learned codes.

Thanks Peter,

to do this, do I first create the hidden pages as per Daniel's design (I can see them in the file structure in a section called 'codes') and then essentially learn each button by navigating on the computer screen but using the pronto as the IR receiver?

You are correct. But you could also have done it the way you started out (learning directly to the Pronto). Once you get into the Tools section, select Learn and then Learn Button. You can then navigate to the device and page by using the cursor (right/left to change device and up/down to change page within the device). There are differing opinions on which method (PENG or Pronto) gives the best results; if you run into some codes that don't work with one method, try learning with the other one.

When learning directly to the Pronto make sure you have Cursor-navigation On or you won't be able to navigate to the device page with the button you want to learn.

And ONE hidden page for all your codes dosn't realy cut it if you are using the RF extender. IR vs RF control is defined at the device level.

That's right - you should have one hidden Pronto device for each piece of equipment you have.

And Cursor Navigation will not go to hidden devices....

Put visible pages and visible devices while learning. Then set them hidden after uploading to the PC following learn.
