My new 7500 just arrived, but I seem to have a problem. I can't get to the setup (or any place else) because there is no response to the touch screen. I'm guessing that the problem is the touchscreen hasn't been calibrated, but how do I calibrate it if I can't get to the setup menu? After waiting weeks for it to arrive, I sure hope it isn't broken. I did a quick scan of the manual, but didn't see anything that would help. Needless to say I'm anxious to get it going and may have missed something. Help please.

Did you put it on the dock and let it charge for a few hours? Have you unplugged the battery and replugged it back in? I'm not sure what "no response to the touch screen" means. Does this mean that the screen is dark or that it is light and you just can't get touches recognized. If that is the case, have you tried downloading the latest firmware available from this site into the remote?

Strange... I answered your questions, but I don't see my entry. Anyway, I did all of the above except the firmware update. I couldn't find it on this site so downloade it from Philips. Strange things happened:
1. FirmwareUpdater couldn't read the current firmware version.
2. When it tried to update, it ran a few seconds then requested I reset the 7500 which I did. Next thing, the Updater reported a communication error. Makes sense since I just reset it. After dismissing the error, the program crashed.
3. I tried the above multiple times, and the program crashed every time. It should be noted that Prontoedit is able to communicate with and download to the 7500 with no problem.

Please give me the link for the firmware update on this site. I'll try that and if still no go, return this for a full refund (hopefully). No use asking for another because they will ship me a factory reconditioned unit which is unreasonable since this unit was DOA.

Thanks for the link. The updater worked this time. My 7500 was V3.8.14 and now has been updated to V3.8.16. Unfortunately that didn't fix it. After installing the update, the calibration screen popped up, but when I tried tapping on the 'X' (upper left corner) nothing happened. In fact, tapping any place on the screen has no effect. It would appear this unit is defective. Unless anyone can think of anything else to try, I'll make arrangements to return it tomorrow. Most unfortunate!
