I have just recieved my 7000 this morning, I have been working on my config for the last week so I'm up and running straight away. I have created an animation on my xbox 360 device of the green ring circling the guide button then locking onto channel 1, on the pc I had to insert delays of 0.2 seconds between each page to get it to run at the correct speed, taking about 2 seconds to complete. On the pronto it runs like a dog however, even after removing all the delays it still takes about 18 seconds to complete!!. It seems page changes are nowhere near fast enough to run this kind of animation. Also changing any page takes about a second, I'd say it is slower than my old b&w pronto ru940.

Is there something wrong with my 7000 or is this the speed I should expect? Have I made my config too complex and used too much memory? my config is only 13mb so this shouldn't be an issue.

Nothing wrong. Search for other threads for last 3 years in this forum that talk about animation and page jumps taking lots of time. The more items on the page and the larger the images, the longer the page jumps take.

Thanks for the info. Are there any tips for speeding it up? how about cropping a background image to the size that is visible rather than leaving it fullscreen? for instance all my background images are the full 240 x 320, yet I have a bar across the top of the screen about 60 pixels high and a bar down the left about 50 pixels wide. Will such tweaking bring noticeable results?

Probably but I don't know how much. Give it a try.
