Hey guys I am wondering if some of you can provide some insight. I am running a TSU7000/RFX6500 combo in my living room to control a Panasonic plasma, Yamaha amp, Viewsat FTA Satellite box and a Sony DVD/VCR combo. I am running Pronto Edit 2.1.8.0 and Pronto firmware 3.8.16. I cannot for the life of me get RF to work at all. If I run the remote in IR everything works great. When I switch on to RF I get no response at all. I have turned off the blaster via dip switch 5 and have also tried turning down the emitter power but that doesn't work either. I have gone to each device and enabled RF, have tried different IDs but nothing. I am real stuck and unsure what to do. Can anyone help?

Oh and before I forget to mention the equipment is in a custom cabinet with a glass door. When I hit a button on the pronto both the antenna and base both blink. The status light on the base is solid red so I do not believe I am getting RF interference.

Have you made sure that the RF channel and the RF channel ID numbers are set the same on both your rfx6500 and in ALL of the device property pages in your config?
The first time I tried my 6500, I had the same problem until I remembered that the channel and channel IDs must all be set to the same numbers.
Good luck,
Rick

Unless I am doing something wrong I go to each device, go to properties, enable RF and set the IDs right? Is there another step I am missing?

That's correct. Make sure that in each of your device property pages that the channel AND extender ID are set to the same channel and extender ID that is set on the 6500. If you still have a problem, try changing the channel and extender ID on your property pages and the 6500. It's not likely, but possible that you could be getting interference on the channel or ID that you currently have selected.

Are you setting the channels and IDs in the editor? If so, double check on your 7000 to make sure that the setting didn't somehow revert to either IR or change the RF settings. Go into "tools" and then go into the IR/RF settings and make sure that each of your devices are set to the channels and IDs that you want.

Other than that, try moving the emitters around to different areas in your cabinet. I had one piece of equipment that was really sensitive and the only way I got it to work, (and it works really well now) was to try mounting it on different spots on the inside of the cabinet door.

I hope you get the RF to work. It makes the whole HT experience a lot more enjoyable to be able to press one button and sit back and watch or listen to your "stuff".

Good luck,
Rick
