Just received my nice new Pronto, however I find it does not work. :(
Following instructions I put the battery in and got no beeps or anything, so I thought flat battery as it came in from the USA to Australia, so I plugged in an appropriate charger (it came with a 110v plugpack), and left it plugged in for half an hour (I figured long enough to see it at least come to life for a short time), but still nothing.
Checked the battery voltage and it's sitting around 4.5v , so it's close enough to the 4.8v that's marked on the pack, so it's not the batteries.
I'm guessing I've either missed something, or it is DOA, so before I send it back I thought I should ask in here first. :)

I bought a used one like that. Wouldn't even charge. Is yours charging?. In any case, I unplugged and replugges the battery a couple of times -- and it came to life and has worked fine since.
Good luck!

Nope, it doesn't indicate any charging at all. I've also given it the unplug/plug in treatment (with a delay between each), without the pronto coming to life. I'm also going to plug it in for 3 hours today to see if it gets any charge at all, although I doubt that's the problem. Looks like I'm going to have to send it back and get a replacement. :( Thanks for the replies.

Are you sure that you are using an appropriate power pack? In particular, the polarity MUST be correct.
From memory I had to have my 7000 on the charger for about a day before I could use it the first time.

From memory I had to have my 7000 on the charger for about a day before I could use it the first time. I made sure of that before I dared plug it in. :) The plugpack I used was 12v DC, with the 'pin' being positive (+) and the outer being negative (-). On the off chance the cradle is cactus, what pins should I be seeing the 12v DC coming out on the cradle ?

Are the blue lights on the dock coming on? If not, I would suspect the dock.

Nope, I can not see any blue lights on it at all, although on closer inspection I can see the location for two leds, which never come on at all. Definately sounds DOA, and I can not get my emails or calls from the vendor returned at this stage either ( www.youprice.com.au). :(

Make sure that you fully seat the 7500 in the cradle. Simply dropping the 7500 in the cradle will not make contact.
Good bet that it is a cradle or power supply issue.

Good bet that it is a cradle or power supply issue. I really ensured that I got it to be properly seated, as well as using different power supplies (it was supplied with a 110v plug pack, so I had to dig out a couple of spare 240v plugpacks with appropriately wired plugs and output voltage). The actually battery voltage was around 4.5v , so that wasn't flat to start off with, so I should have at least seen it start up, which it didn't, so I'm assuming that the pronto was DOA anyway, and if the cradle can't "see" the pronto being plugged in, it won't indicate it trying to charge it. Anyway, I've been in touch with the vendor, who has told me to ship it back to them in the USA and they will replace it with a new one. So now I have to wait another couple of weeks until they get it back and send the replacement. Thanks everyone for your suggestions, none of them worked unfortunately, but I now know what to try if the replacement doesn't start up immediately. :)

The TSU7500 is working fine, now I've gotta configure it to make it mine. :)
