Hi everyone. I haven't frequented this forum for a while... mostly because my pronto has been working fine.

I currently have firmware 3.1.15 and noticed it is now up to 3.9.12. Is there anything spectacular that should prompt me to update? I scanned the release notes, didn't look like much, but maybe I'm overlooking so I figured I would ask. Thanks!

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. While 3.9.12 has bug fixes and some new features (e.g., IR duration and screen activation), firmware versions after 3.6.7 also tinkered with the timing of the IR commands, which caused some of my macros not to work. This might not happen to you, but be warned.

Good advice. That's what I was wondering: if there were any new features that were "must haves".

I would say don't do it, Here's my tale of woe. I now have a dead pronto and Phillips quoted me a $200 out of warranty fee to fix it.

I have used this TSU3000 for 3+ Years no problems. I Recently upgraded some components and thought I'd do my remote while I was at it and installed newest ProntoEdit (3.13) and Firmware (3.99) from this site. Then weird things started happening, macros no longer working, codes working erratically, enough to drive me nuts.

From searching seemed like it was possible dirty codes and duration issues, played around and couldn't get things right. I decided to go back to earlier software/firmware (2.06/3.115). Had problems going back and reflashing old firmware as it wouldn't let me. Tried firmware 1 step back from current (3.98), still same problems with macros and codes not working, tried the one I was using before (it all went screwy and then the fun really started.

Firmware downgrade errored out, gave me the "Invalid CF/Corrupt Memory" error message. Remote is now totally dead, I've done the "Reset w/ Paperclip", recharged batteries to fullest, removed battery pack for a hard reset and tried to reflash newest version firmware and now, remote is still totally dead. Pronto Edit gives me the "0030" error code, can't communicate with remote.
