I can not seem to connect with my 2000 using my USB to serial adapter on my laptop.

I do not have a serial port on my laptop.

I use the 2000 to transport codes to the job site for testing and R&D when needed.

I do not have a problem using my adapter with a Sonance K2 keypad or Xantec products.

I have tried all port assignments.

Any one have experience with this?

Thanks.

This is the wrong forum for 2000 related questions, however if I remember correctly the 2000 can only communicate with Comm port 1. Your USB adapter probably uses a different comm port. Check with the manufacturer some have programs to run that reassign comm ports easily. I have a keyspan that allows this. There may be another way but a program is easiest.

I did not catch that I was in the wrong forum.

I have a keyspan as well. It will only allow me to assign the serial port to port 4. I will look again to see if I am incorrect

I had to download a program from keyspans site, it was a while ago so I don't remember what it was and, of course, it is on another pc.
