Sorry for the "duh" question, but I'm a real newbie....
Is the rechargable base for the TSU3000 the same as the one used for the 2000 model (i.e. the DS1000)?
The main reason I ask is become some of the '3000 info says the charging base will be available shortly after the remotes release.
Thanks, Sam

And here's a duh answer.
No
You can not use the ds-1000 to charge the tsu-3000.
The 3000 is a remote built from scratch basicaly. New software, firmware and hard ware are used in the 3000.

Thanks for the reply, Rob.
So now I have to ask......which recharging base can you use with the TSU3000?

The one that is coming out I'd assume.
You do realize the that battery pack will come with it, right?
If your thinking about recharging rechargable batteries with the tsu-3000's charger. Then don't. It won't work that way. However, you still can use rechargable batteries, but you'll have to charge them in their own charger.

From what I can tell, it just uses standard AA batteries.
I don't what to use standard rechargable batteries, I'm looking to use a charging base and rechargable battery a la DS1000. Is this something that you are referring to as coming out?

My message was about the charger package. And there for that quote you got from it is about the battery pack coming with the charger station, not the remote.
This will be coming out soon. Not sure when or what the model number is.

It's a similar (the same?) battery as the ProntoPro, and the charger uses a similar (the same?) connector as the Pro as well.

Now, that is interesting. Can someone confirm ... is the TSU3000's and ProntoPro's charger interchangeable?

No, the contacts have been shifted off-center on the TSU3000.

I found a TSU3000 charger base at Dmart on Yahoo shopping - $69.97. Took about 3 weeks to finally ship it (hopefully arriving next week).

the model number for the tsu3000 charging base is ds3000. it is similar to the marantz rc5200 base. the ds3000 is supposed to available to dealers and distributors by the end of this month, first of next, provided the war situation has not deterred shipments. I have been using my tsu3000 for over a month now, including many download hours, and the original batteries still indicate almost a full charge.
