Hello... anyone know the discrete HDMI-2 code for Mitsubishi 62526? I've searched thru the forums, and have tried the mit-tv-wd72625.zip download / button 122 trick, and it didn't work.

Thanks for any and all help!

Try the procedure with the factory remote found here.

Hi-
Yes, I saw that, but this procedure does not apply to my remote / TV. The remote that came with the TV does not have an input button, F1 buttons, or a power button that lights up. On the TV remote, to get to another device, you hit a "device" rocker button that displays all inputs on the TV, you navigate to what you want, then you hit "enter" to go to it. This procedure implies the remote never sends out a discrete code, but rather tells the TV "go to the next input up, whatever it is".

Conversely, thanks to this forum, I've been able to get around the above screwy design and find discrete codes for everything I need except HDMI-2. So it appears as if the TV is capable of it, but this HDMI-2 info (so far) does not seem to be published. Looks like I'll call Mit's, although I don't have high hopes for much help.

thanks-

You are having the same issue that I have been working with for 8 months. I apparently have the same remote that you have with the rocker button for device selection. Did you ever find a solution? I have all but quit using the pronto due to this issue. Does someone possibly have a learned code from using the direct mode procedure they could upload or email? Mit was very little (that means none) help for me.

Mr. Jones,

You might want to update your email addy on profile. I was gonna send you a file as you requested, but zebra rejected my mail using the addy on your profile.

If you download my MITS TV CCF file from the Classic Pronto Files Section (go into Mitsubish components and select RPTV or just search the downloads for my name), the code you want out of that file is in a button labeled 122.

If this does not work, please post the learned data from your Power Toggle Code so that I can compare and see what MITS has done for your particular unit and make further recommendations.

I updated my email. Sorry about that. I have been on here for a while (since I had a TSU2000). I have tried your code library. The 122 code does nothing. (I have manages to get all other functions to work except direct switch to HDMI-2). I thought I was saved when I saw the post with the direct commands until I realized I have a different remote that does not do the same thing. The particular TV I have is the WD-62627. I will try anything at this point but I think a "learned" code is probably my best option.

Please post the data for a learned code of Power Toggle. If it's device 71, which I think it will be, your only option is to try the functions in my CCF one-by-one with a warning that you might put your TV into a state such as service mode but you should be able to power off without doing any damage (at least on my WD62725, that's the case).

Lyndel:

Here is my learned power toggel:
0000 007E 0000 0011 000A 0047 000A 0047 000A 0047 000A 001F 000A 001F 000A 001F 000A 0047 000A 001F 000A 001F 000A 0047 000A 001F 000A 001F 000A 001F 000A 001F 000A 001F 000A 001F 000A 039B

Quite interestingly, on your code set, the "power toggel" works but the plain code "71" does nothing (on or off). At the risk of disclosing that I am really dense, I assume that I should be able to select the "71" for power toggel? Months ago, I mapped all the codes as what they seems to do but I seem to have misplaced the list.

Thanks for the patience and assistance.

My Tv seems to have the power toggel at "2" not "71". I note that your "2" is slightly different than my learned code. Just my observation, although I dont claim to be able to read the code.

Just happen to be “in town”... here is what I did: almost nothing.

I have a work-around. I created a macro that does "device up" then "enter". That 90% of the time "toggles" between my two inputs. Yes, I only have two inputs to choose from (Tivo HD on HDMI-1 and DVD on HDMI-2), but in true Mits fashion, you can remove all but three unused inputs. So if I hit the device button, I have three options show up -- one being "cable in" which I do not use. So, in sum, 90% of the time the macro toggles correctly between the two inputs I use. 10% of the time it selects the unused input I cannot disable.

Really, the proper solution is a direct code to directly select HDMI-2, like there is for HDMI-1. And, the ability to turn off the unused 3rd input would make sense. All of this is simple firmware tweaks, which is something implied could be done via the "SW upgrade" option within the TV menu. But that will never happen, I'm sure, since it is also implied only a technician can do this procedure (ie, code not given to consumers).

Good luck!

After about an hour on hold with Mitsubishi (for the 3rd time) the rep, who really did not know what I was talking about, put me on hold and came back and said that the Pronto is not compatible with the HDMI-2 on that TV. I am just not buying that. I am trying to talk to the local service rep to see if they can get a better answer.

chj,

You are correct, your power toggle code is 2 and so is mine. The above code you posted is device id 0x47 (decimal 71) and function 0x02 (decimal 2) So, there's no reason that my codes won't work.

Did you try the "power toggle" from my CCF? If that works, then there may not be a discrete code to select Input HDMI2 .

I have come to the conclusion that this TV does not have a discrete code for HDMI-2. I took my Pronto on a trip to BestBuy and tried code 122 on the current model of the TV and it worked. I note that the current on has 2 HDMI and 1 DVI where mine does not have the DVI. On the new one, the pc port is the DVI. I am wondering if the fact that the HDMI is the PC port have anything to do with it. Have you used your HDMI-2 with a PC hooked up? I have a friend who is the local MIT service center and he is going to ask his contacts if there may be a firmware upgrade or another solution. I think I will unplug the PC and see if, by chance, it works then. Otherwise, I think I give up and will program the page-through input button.

chj,

If the current model works, call MITS customer service and ask if they have a "firmware upgrade" for your unit. I recently upgraded my firmware on the WD62725 as a no-charge from MITS. They send you a memory card with instructions. You plug it in, upgrade, then mail it back to them prepaid in their own envelope.

It works! After several hours on the phone with MItsubishi, they agreed to send me the software upgrade and I now have an HDMI2 code! They did not want to let me have the upgrade because they only want to give it out if you are having one of the particular problems it addresses. The first level techs only knew what was in their database so I asked if I could make a specific inquirey. I was transferred to a higher level tech who was actually familiar with the Pronto and acknowledged that there was no discrete code for HDMI2 and that the firmware upgrade did have it. After a good bit of cautioning about installing the new firmware if I did not have the specific problems addressed, she consented to sending it to me, overnight no less. So far, the TV has not freaked out and I now have a discrete code for HDMI2. I post this depth because I noted that others have asked similar questions of Mitsubishi TVs in other forums.

So now I can go back to trying to progam the remote (a few hundred more hours).
