I have a PCF that I want to convert to CCF is it possible? I have some buttons in the PCF that I manually learned the IR codes to a remote and I am too lazy to redo it for the CCF. Any suggestions?
Thanks

No!!!! You must cut-n-paste the IR code data between the 2 editors.

Netremote www.promixis.com has a utility program called NetRemote Designer that seems to convert pcf to ccf.
Haven't tried it since I sold my PDA for a Pronto, but NR used to be one of the better emulators for the pda, so it's worth a try- you can download a trial version for free.
Don't forget to visit the excellen forums section.

The NG remotes sometimes save IR codes in shortened versions. Can these work in the OG remotes (old generation)? If they can, do they all?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I believe that the 5000 and 6000 codes (RC5 and RC6) will work with the Philips line but maybe not the Marantz line of older remotes.

The Pronto 6000 can use 9000 type codes. 7000 and 8000 type codes are usually specific to the model.
