Hi all,
I just upgraded from a 3000 to a 7500. I copied my 3000 config into PPNG, changed out a few icons for color ones, and uploaded it. However, I am having reboot problems on the 7500. It just randomly reboots. The battery is good (according the the meter.) Why would essentially the same config do this? Do I have a bad 7500? Any thoughts on this?

The first thing I would do in your situation is download the firmware to the remote again. I might even download the firmware to the remote a couple times in a row. I highly doubt your configuration file has anything to do with the remote rebooting.

Does it reboot whle you are using it or when it is sitting idle?

Does it reboot if you have the default PCF in it?

Your 3000 PCF could have some corrupt stuff in it, such as Groups.

It reboots both when it is in use and idle. I have seen it do this several times when I pick it up (i.e. when the pickup sensor sets the backlight on.

I have not tried the default PCF, but it doesn't do it often enough for me to be able to know of that will fix it or not. However, I did merge the default config into my PCF so that I could get the color interface. I wonder if that had something to do with it?

As for groups, I have seen mention of this before, I will search around a bit and see if that is the problem.

I will try all this stuff and report back.

Update:
I went to re-flash the firmware, and realized that the 7500 does not come with the latest firmware. (I saw the 1.0 stuff and thought it had seperate firmware for some odd reason.)
Anyway, I upgraded to the latest firmware, and we shall see if that fixes it.

i bought two of the 7500's when they first came out and had the same problem on both. I put the newest firmware on and it didn't solve the problem. I am emailing the pronto team back and forth and my problem still has NOT been resolved. I went and bought a 7000 last month and put the same pcf on it that was on the 7500's and it has not rebooted one time. Both 7500's are sitting in my closet! Good luck!

Well, I opened up the XML file did a search for "group" found nothing. The problem seems to happen most when I pick it up. I am thinking it is the pick up sensor. I will try disabling it and see what happens.

i did the same thing and it rebooted less but it still did every once in a while when i pressed the light button on the side or touching the screen. Either way, the pick up sensor is a very nice feature. Who wants a $1000 remote that you can't use one of the coolest things on it?

Anything further on this problem? I have a similar problem (reboots when pickup sensor activates after being idle for more than 15 minutes). I would very much like to know how I can fix it (if I can) and if anybody has had any luck with replacement units.
Thanks.
