My TSU 7000 became saturated with spilled wine during the Super Bowl and died. When I inquired at Tweeter about getting a new one they told me about the new TSU 7500 and I bought it with their assurance that my old config files would download to the new unit. Well, it's not working. Not sure what the problem is...I keep getting error messages that there is an "error converting the file for this device" and then the ProntoProEdit NG software crashes. I was able to upload the default config from the new remote so I don't think it's a connection problem.

Did Tweeter steer me wrong? Can I use the old config files for my TSU7000 in my new remote? Any and all help is appreciated...

Try to download the latest software, open your old 7000 configs as a 7000 file. Save the file(s) as a new 7000 config. Then, reopen the 7000 config and save for the 7500.

Then, try downloading the 7500 file to the remote.

If you have problems connecting to the 7500 for download, follow instructions in this thread.

If you still can't figure out what the problem is, email me the file @ addy on profile and I'll be happy to take a look. Just be aware that I will convert the file and then email it back to you. You will need to have a mailbox with space such that you can receive an email approximately 1.5 times the size of your config.

Lyndel,

Thanks for your response. I've uninstalled the software, re-installed the new ProntoProEdit NG 2.1.7 from the Philips website and tried the steps you provided...it still isn't working. When I close a config file the edit software crashes (Microsoft message saying the "PPENG software has encountered a problem and must close" and buttons to report the problem, debug, etc.)

Also, I've noticed when I have my config file open in PPENG that some of the icons in the file tree on the left are colored red. I don't remember this from before and wonder if there is something amiss in the file...? My system is set up to work on RF codes and I've also noticed that most of my devices are now set to IR.

I'm pretty frustrated, as you can tell. I will mail the config file to you as your offered and provide a phone number in case you need to ask any questions.

Thanks for your help.

The red icons mean the device is hidden.

I've isolated the problem in the PCF to be one that could have only gotten there by edits in a Version previous to 2.1.4. There are groups in the PCF that contain only a single item. How this occurred, I don't know. However, I have emailed you a fixed, non-corrupt PCF so you should be well on your way to using Version 2.1.7.
