OK, I am trying to be a good noob and do my research. I have gotten the "Ultimate Guide" and read a lot on the forum. My question is: The IR codes that I have downloaded from Hitachi's website are 8 digit alpha numeric codes. The files that are on the file area of the forum have much larger numeric codes. Dave mentions a IR converter but the search doesn't bring back anything. Can I convert the codes? Which format is used to load into PENG? A kick in the right direction would be appreciated! GT

The first place I'd start is in the files section of the original pronto area. You can most likely download already working codes and, in the discreet section, there wil most likely be discreet power/inputs. After that, the next step is Make Hex - again - in the files section. Hope that helps.

gtsc, what Hitachi are you trying to control? My file in the "files" section is programmed for a Hitachi plasma.

Its a 50VG825 DLP/LCD projection. I have the codes that I downloaded from the Hitachi website (I thought it would be better to start out with the discrete codes because the remote that came with the set is terrible) but I am confused as to how I load them into PENG. Maybe I am jumping the gun as I don't have the Pronto yet but I am trying to do some preliminary work if I can. I am hoping the remote will be here today. Thanks for the reply. GT
